The Bullshit Act

As some of us know, we can be banned on Sythe for breaking Sythe rules somewhere else. This is logical to a point, but it's really annoying me right now. There's also that unconscionable act that pretty much allows the staff to justify a ban without a reason.

I guess I'm mainly making this thread due to the recent ban of dorianking as he is a good friend of mine, but there's plenty of other people who were, in my opinion, wrongfully banned.

When someone is banned for having a botnet, which as far as I know, isn't even on the Sythe rules, that's a little pathetic. At least make it clear that people can be banned for breaking Sythe rules anywhere off of Sythe if you're going to be a dick about it. That way you can justify it without bringing up the unconscionable act or other stupid reasons.

Based on this invisible rule, someone can technically be banned for posting porn on another website or doing anything illegal such as torrenting movies. I'd still be fine with this if it was equally enforce upon everyone, but when members get singled out for it, that's just wrong.

 

I do support this. At least clarify the rules before banning users.

 

I have to agree with you about clearly stating some rules that members are getting banned for in the rules, but if you read Sin's post, dorianking would have been banned for hacking anyways. That rule is clearly in the rules.

 

There's still no rule that says you're not allowed to break Sythe rules anywhere else. If the same concept was used in real life, it could be said that if you're a citizen of the United States, you can't break any US laws in, let's say, Russia.

Well it's kind of obvious if you scam on another site that we don't want you here, as you could be a risk to our members. And this is Sythe.org, on the internet, not the real world.

 

I def think that the Sythe policy regarding a violation of rules on other forums should be more clearly defined, or at least specify which rules cannot be broken on other websites as well.

 

If the rule wasn't in place, would you prefer having a site filled with scammers, phishers, crackers, hackers, virus spreaders, DDoSers, Stealers, etc?

I don't agree with the Dorianking ban, and torrentz and porn aren't the same as stealing/that sort of shit. Pin lines are essentially using someones house phone connected through a line and getting them charged.

 

So do I get banned for pirating porn on other websites?

 

The problem is the staff is singling out people instead of treating everyone equally. If they are going to ban Dorianking, be ready to ban Skele and Finn for using pinlines/selling pinline pins as well.

 

I already stated that it's logical to a point, such as banning someone for scamming on another website or hacking, but this same concept should not be used for all the rules. As for your last sentence, that was an analogy.

That's pretty much a summary of what should be done.

That's the problem. The rule isn't in place. It's just an invisible rule that members are supposed to know without really knowing it's there. Make it clear.

The most common way of people obtaining pins is buying them in bulk, whether they buy them from people with ********s or not, you can assume 99% of all pins came from ********s, directly or indirectly.

 

Exactly. Why are they allowed to get away with using pinlines, directly or indirectly as you say, while others cannot?

Oh, so we're going by the innocent until proven guilty concept? I thought the staff used the 'prove it or you're guilty' one.

But the rule states that you can only sell pins that you obtain from phones. That means you can't resell pins you buy from others. Oh darn, I've sold a pin I've bought off someone else on MSN before. Does that mean I'm going to get permanently banned?

 

He gets them from whoever the fuck sells to him, that's where.

Show me one time we do 'prove it or your guilty,' if there's no proof why would we ban someone? Chat logs =! proof. That's to protect your 'innocent until proven guilty' thing. Otherwise, barely any proof would be needed.

If you're trying to make that in to Dorians ban, apparently, Sin caught him trying to buy ********s with the same MSN. So, he was technically, proven guilty.

 

But isn't that against the rules?

By that, I meant they have to prove they don't use ********s, directly to the staff. Kind of like getting guides verified. Wouldn't that work better than trying to guess who uses ********s?

 

Not to accuse skele, but your above statement is somewhat flawed in it's nature then, you yourself a few posts ago said that 99% of most bulk pins come from pinlines? Then the odds are skele has sold ******** pins? If so, according to this thread http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=656103 (no ******** pins are to be sold), then skele has committed the same offense?

Let it be known that I think the no ******** pins rule is illogical, and should be removed as enforcing the rule is practically impossible.

 

Either that or the whole membership section should be removed, since people aren't allowed to sell pins they obtain in bulk from others either.

 

Are those not the type that skele sells?
