I remember when we ran the world of warcraft classic event and @Yellow_Hat_OSRS_Services won but all of us that got specific points etc got the rank (you can see my wow classic rank)

I wouldn't mind seeing more stuff like that, not just RS related or member of the month, could engage the other community sections more

 

Would like to hear more thought around this suggestion. Shoot me a disc message!

 

You guys should do a big event and include another forums and have it a versus one. Sythe vs whoever... Sythe members vs theres. Would be fun to see and could bring both communities together. May not be worth the time but I could see it being fun for sure and its different.

I feel like the other forums doesn't have to be a black-market either!

Hey, even though it sounds like a good plan, i'm not sure how practical it is. Sythe is already struggling with finding enough participants for events, i think other forums might have it significantly harder (i'm not being pessimistic, it's just a fact that people grow older, get families and have less time for forums etc.). The idea of doing a "forum against forum" event is not very realistic. There also won't be much of a connection between the two participating forums (probably), because the 2 groups (or members of) participating against each other probably have had little no no contact at all in the past. This may create a tense atmosphere since participants of either forum might start accusing the opposing team of cheating or simply get upset since there is no form of trust (yet), especially if there's a prize pool (in the form of money). This doesn't mean i am automatically assuming everyone that would participate has that type of character, but the risk/chance of an event like this not working out is too big for it to be worth the investment of time/money.

However, i do like the concept of your idea and i will think about how it can be brought to life in the best possible way, so i'll think about what can be done. Thank you for the feedback Katana!

most xp gained in X hrs / days / weeks etc ?
^ i see how this might not be the apropriate place for these, considering the amount of scripts, bots and services here

maybe a "highest total level gained in x hrs of playtime"
or a "lowest level to complete x"

seeing how creative people can get with this kind of builds

Suggestion to have all event games be F2P only. Would like to participate in the events however would not like to spend money on a game I won't play again tbh. Just a suggestion!

 

Start posting bimonthlies again or I’ll apply for CDT.

 

When CDT hosts seasonal events along with a tournament, the voting threads take longer than usual to be posted.

I suggest either:
- Extend the time for submissions so it is open during the tournament
- Start the tournament earlier
- Open voting threads once knockout stage is reached in tournament

At this moment, voting threads are posted once the tournament is finished. Then it takes an additional week for voting and the final result thread is delayed.

 

The timing of voting threads going live has never had any relevance or tie to other [tournament] events that are active. Voting threads have always taken roughly 3-5 days to post after the closing of the entry submission thread.

How long it takes for the voting thread to go live does depend on the CDT member hosting those specific events. They / we are all human and have lives outside of CDT, if you can imagine that. We also have one person who does all of our GFX and it usually takes a few days for us to receive so that we can go live with the threads. Each event usually has three threads (submission, voting, results), so lots of GFX are needed. It takes time.

You do GFX, if you have an issue with the 3-5 day window it has always taken to get voting threads posted, why don't you volunteer your time for some free graphics?

 

Kinda corny but I think this is a good suggestion...

We should have a fitness community event that will last 2-3 months or whatever.

Basically all participants will work out for that time frame and the members who made the biggest changes within the time frame will win. The event will have 3 winners with runner ups. We are all nerds but this could promote some physical activity and motivate people to better themselves. I get this is a gaming market but staying healthy in life is more important than gaming.

Note: No faces will have to be shown in the results / beginning pictures so anyone scared of that wouldn't need to worry. We can also have only CDT judge/see beginning and after photos so no one would have to worry about their pictures being on the site.

I don't think this would be something that many users would be comfortable with even with their faces blurred out due to the toxicity from some members of our community. I'm interested to see what others will say, nonetheless.
