who would you vote for? intellectuals only.

In our modern era, if Hitler or Stalin were running for president who would you vote for?

 

If I had no previous knowledge of either I would most likely vote for Hitler as he was an amazingly charismatic speaker. But, if I knew what would happen after either was voted in I wouldn't vote for either.

 

Hitler really did a good job of improoving Germany's economy. Stalin's motives were plain though. Hitler disguised his well. So hitler,

 

Everyone sees Hitler as the worse leader as in the motives he did in history. Well, Stalin was responsible for the murder of 20 million Russians he killed who was against his communist ideas. I personally am for communism, and however, socialism I would agree to also, If your saying what leader I would want, I would personally say Stalin for my political believes. However, I could say Hitler was a better leader and very intelligent, however a manic he was a good leader and spokesmen.

I personally believe Vladimir Lenin was one of the best leaders in history, he completely turned Russia around in the 1920s after his poisoning and murder what I believe Stalin did. As he said, "whatever you do, do not let Stalin leader". Che Guevara was a great leader as well, but the capitalists west murdered him, for what? Going against his views, so everyone should have the same views? No.

Anyway, In answer to your question if it was based on judgment not on there character but on there intelligence, not political wise, I would choose Hitler based on the facts that he was a better leader, although he did some terrible things, so did Stalin, much worse just people don't account for.

 

I think you need to get your facts strait. Hitler formed VW, increased Germany's land, and provided jobs(army/factories). Although he did the last two in completly unethical ways, he did make the economy better until they got their asses kicked.

 

You need to be more specific as of which country they would be the president of. Not many countries have presidents as leaders. To your awnser, like Sythe said I would choose not to vote for either which is a choice today. They both killed millions of people for not being/believing what they wanted them to, which is what religion has been doing and Im not religious.

Well you need to be more specific, not only that if the future is not yet decided with these two and we didn't know what is now their past then whats the difference between picking them and some other average joe.

Without any previous knowledge of their life? Probably Hitler, he used Democracy to get into power, unlike Stalin who rode on the coattails of the Socialist Revolution and then just forced out the few that were ahead of him.

With previous knowledge of their life? Probably Hitler. He was able to resurrect a nation that was decimated from WWI. Honestly, we can't really speculate how Hitler would be in the modern era, he could be the most compassionate human rights activist for all we know.

Take them out of the time era they were in and you open Pandora's Box.

 

Because even if you don't agree with anything the people are running for, like during McCain and Obama.. Even if you don't like what they "have to offer" SOMEONE is going to win reguardless of what you think. So why not vote? You could just say "I voted for that guy because he has good hair" if you don't care.

Anyways, I'd vote for Hitler. Sounds like a more powerful name. Other than that, I don't care.

Wasn't his rise to power directly due to Lenin? The reason Hitler got my vote was simply, he rose to power under his own intellect and strengths, not let Lenin lead the way then kill him ('unconfirmed' ... eh) when they got to the top.

 

He brought Germany out of the Depression by re-establishing the army, thus creating an influx of jobs for German citizens. Don't vote, don't complain.

I would have probably voted for Hitler ONLY for the reason that I most likely would not have known his plan to carry out his racial cleansing.
