Have you ever looked on the runescape accounts for sale sections?

It's unbelievable how many people there, buying and selling, are trying to scam eachother. Also there are people who get like 50-100 posts from their own sale thread, per account.

I think there should be something like BTF - Blackmarket Trading Form.

People selling a runescape account should get their account "BTF'd" or something. Which means an admin has confirmed the account details by recovering the account. And the information was complete and true.
This shows people that the thread is less likely to be a scam attempt.

The only problem with this I can feel coming is the time wasted by the staff, I mean like you could even ask 5$ or 2,50$ something for it though. Small price to pay for safety. Also the verifiers must be highly trusted obviously.

    Any ideas / suggestions / thoughts ?

I think this would be a great addition to the Blackmarket on the buyers side.

But the only downsides, would take alot of effort for the accounts to get verified & the sellers may not want to give out the account details.

    But great idea :D

    I agree, and disagree.

I mean, look at how many really cheap, not so good accounts are being sold at Sythe, the A/W for some of them is like 1$. To get it verified, it's not really worth it. Plus, if the "verifiers" charge a fee, the cheap accounts wouldn't get sold, they'd make a loss. Moreover the amount of time used up would be hours.

However, they should be something like this since the amount of Sythe users becoming scammed is increasing all the time. Yet, if they used their common sense there shouldn't really be a problem. And yes, I do realise that things don't always work out like that.

My final idea is that "verifiers" charge 10% of the account value, they then verify, change information etc and post in a safe zone. This can be a new part of the forum in which only verified accounts can be put, and is the only place where you aren't going to get scammed. This will also give users the choice, "safe" or "risky". If they were then to get scammed whilst purchasing an account from the "risky" section it will be their fault, since they could of chosen to look in the "safe" zone. This is just my improvement (in my opinion) to the aforementioned idea.

The few admins we have, that already do more than enough, are going to handle thousands of account sales?

    No thanks.

They will make money and obviously we need trusted people, which are hard to come by and nearly impossible to say if someone can be trusted or not.

I'd never give my account details to anyone who has not paid me. Staff can scam, just like regular users.

Okay, lets say a mod/admin recovers it. Perfect information, splendid!

    We verify it. Simple enough.

The kid proceeds to give the buyer DIFFERENT info then what was provided to the mods/admins. There's a problem, now. So, unless you want every staff member verifying accounts + MMing the trades they verify for, it's a complete waste of time. Nobody is willing to verify like 100+ accounts then MM all of the trades to ensure the legitimate info is being given.

Do you have any idea how many accounts are for sale every day? Even without all the scammers. It's the buyers responsibility to do it safe, not the mods/other members. If someone is selling an account and wants to get it verified, that's their business. Don't support.

Just get an MM, that they can use the info given by the seller to try and recover the account, if all is good then he will give the buyer the info and give the seller the money.

Naw bra, what they do, is ad a few Mod positions in the BTF section, and thats there job to do that. Then, those mods, can verify if the info is correct, and if so, you can go ahead and approve the account

Do you realize how hard it is to find a legit MM or get ahold of a OMM?

and the idea of the BTF, is 100% THE BEST IDEA ive heard in a long while.

That's why the person who starts the account confirmation should also complete the trade if successfull.

    Pkpkpk:
This kind of system would take away ALOT of those threads, because ALOT of those threads are fake as in; a scam, or post count whoring.

    Skele master:
I've tried this a few times, almost no one seems to want to cooperate due to the amount of people simply wanting to scam.

I know there are a shit load of selling threads now, but if something like this, not necessarily this though, would be implented it would cut down on the number of threads greatly.

Good idea in theory, however admins will never want to do this.

If you think it's hard finding an MM, good luck finding an admin/mod to check them out...

If a certain user does not want to use an MM, then there is a 99% chance that he's a scammer or is going to recover the account. This whole BTF thing is basically what an MM already does..

How in the world do you expect Admins to check all of those accounts? That is a massive workload and it would be pointless. There are MMs for a reason.

Recovery forms can take multiple attempts even when they're valid (which can be time-consuming). Not to mention, they come with the risk of the account getting locked. We will not require them: as has been said, we recommend an MM is used instead.
