I have $3000 I want to invest

I have $3000 I don't plan on spending in a while, does anyone have a good idea where to invest it? I was thinking possible buying gold, or stocks.

 

gold is going no where but up right now, currently atm 1,130 and after a kinda big drop its going back up. i currently have a few ounces and plan on selling soon

 

If you aren't going to use it for a while, look into a Certificate of Deposit. Basically a Savings Account with a better interest rate, but you get a penalty for early withdrawals. You keep it in the bank for an allotted amount of time.

 

COD is best investment as the guy above said. The bank/w/e its called can give 5-15% on your cash from 6 months-5years.

 

Gold is going up, my friend just sold some coins he had for about 16grand haha.

 

yeah gold is much better then COD, had gold 10z coins from about 10 years ago (20) bought at 300 ea there selling for close to 1200 now

buy shares, like me for example I bought shares in tesco about last year for £.047p

and now they went up to £4.00

If your business minded you will know that this is a huge increase.

Buy shares in company's, don't try invest in stuff multi billion dollar company's invest in.

 

I personally prefer COD.

 

Invest it in supplying Vegemite to under privileged Americans.

I would probably do gold, gold is only going to go up. $3000 worth of gold could be around $30,000 20 years from now.

 

Thanks for the help. A COD might not be a bad idea getting 5%-15% would be good, but I'm thinking that inflation, especially how the US is spending, is going to take a whole lot out. I might invest in the stock market a little bit, but I could imagine myself losing a lot of money. I'll probably buy gold it might fluctuate up and down but in the long run it should be worth it.

If you wanted to invest in gold, you should have done it 2 years ago.

Gold peaks during recessionary periods, if you invest in it now you are just placing a bet against economic recovery, not making an investment.

Go on ebay.com buy electronics cheap also this can be done with shoes just find the best bargains and sell them thats what i do. i get ipod touches for about $130 sell for $170+ quick and not only ipod touches you can buy a variety od things on wholesale such as Xbox360,psp,Dvd players, Bulk hats, Bulk games, Hats, Shoes, Cell phones trust me if you browse around a bit and buy wholesale/bulk you can make a pretty profit.
