    An Early Farewell

I haven't been registered to Sythe for very long, although I have browsed for years. I may not have made friends here, but I wouldn't expect to in such a short space of time. I am not leaving yet, I will still be active for a little while.
All through my life, the one thing I have wanted to do most is fight for my country. I have tried many different paths in my life, and now have decided it's time to go for my life long ambition. I will be joining the British Army on the front line. I have the intelligence to do many other jobs in the army, but theres nothing I want more than the adrenaline of fighting on the front line to protect my country. In my opinion, the current conflict in Afghanistan should never have begun, but everytime I watch the news and I see more and more soldiers making their final journey home, it touches a place in my heart that nothing else can. I feel a huge amount of respect for people who I have never even spoken to. The bravery they show to go out there and risk their own lives for other people. I want to become a part of that. I want to do a job that will make my family proud, and I don't believe there is a more respectful job in the world.
To be shipped to Afghanistan, knowing thers a huge chance of death, or serious injury takes alot of courage and bravery. I personally like to help others, and I have a passion for adrenaline.
I'm only 18 so obviously I don't want to be the next person on the news suffering death or serious injury, but in my mind theres no better way to end your life. Dying for your country in my opinion is the best way to go, and not to just die from something like old age. I don't think about the possibility of death, as I would prefer dying doing something to be proud of.
I will begin proceedings tomorrow when I will sign up, after that I shall face a fitness test and a medical. Providing I pass both of those, I would hope it's not a long period of time before I would begin my training and be a partof the group of people who have my full respect.

I know most of you won't care that I'm leaving, nor with bother to read what I said, but meh just letting you know that hopefully sometime in the near future I will be leaving, and expressing my opinions.

I'm afraid you have the wrong attitude. You shouldn't have all those thoughts of death and dying.

My thoughts are more towards the excitement of the job, and the feeling I'll get from ding it. Dying there is no problem to me, it doesn't make a difference. Thanks for the support from those who have posted :)

Don't think about pain, suffering, and death. Be confident, strong, and proud. Chances of death are not as high as you think, so don't be scared. Last of all, I'd like to say thank you.

Hey, I actually did read this all, and I would like to thank you, even though I'm in Canada. The things you are willing to do is extreme, and to be honest, I would not fight in "that" war. As you are really against, for the most part, people just like your self, being invaded though.

I believe that the people out there now are heros, lives lost each day at such young ages whilst fighting for their country. I expect there are many people who don't realise how much these people are risking on behalf of others, but I myself give maximum respect to all those fighting and protecting our country, and now I think it's time I stop leaving other people to do it, and I try to make a difference.
Hopefully I will stay safe and I will do my country proud.
Once again, thanks for the support.
