Banned while provider was skilling for me?

Hi all. I have an account that was being grinded by a provider. I trust the provider, and he already grinded up a Quest cape basically from scratch for me.

He was grinding the stats for elite diaries (for a large price of course), and the account got banned. Here are the bans:

1. A bot busting moderate temp ban from Jan (I was never told about this, had no idea)
2. A macroing major from the other day (perm)

The provider (whom I trust and is trying to rectify the situation), claims that he uses a premium rotation of VPNs (probably not in my country tho), and that he trusts his guys, who have made serious progress on the account obviously and there were no issues until the last few months.

He claims the ban was because the account was getting played on for like 12 hours a day from a VPN. Is this reasonable? Does Jagex really ban for macroing/bot busting because of long play time constantly? 12 hours a day does seem accurate to what the account was getting played on.

I'm also a bit pissed since I would have asked him to stop after the first had I known (he did know), seems like the second one was a perm because of the first.

Since i have a lot of experience running a service Discord i help you out the best that i can.

Firstly what was the terms of service agreed upon? A service provider should list his liability in case something happends with the account such as bans.

I understand you trust the serviceprovider used here, but the fact was that the worker must have noticed the account was disabled (2 day ban) and did not care to tell the serviceprovider, or you the customer. That is very sloppy and very poor on the serviceprovider and his worker.

It sometimes happends indeed (very rare though) that an account gets falsely banned for macroing. Especially since there are huge xp gains together with a lot of ip changes > this is a red flag for Jagex.

It sucks that your account is permanently banned but there is an easy way to squash the ban (do this in like 3-4 days just to be safe)

Appeal your ban here saying that your account was banned for botting and your account was hijacked.

Your ban will be squashed since the ban was placed on a different ip address then you normally play on:

If i were you i would not choose this serviceprovider ever again and wait with using any service again on your account.

 

Do a account recovery from your i.p and then send in the appeal from their appeal a ban link saying your account got hijacked, worked for me the other day.

But i would say they were botting it...

Thanks for the response! It's pretty odd to me since it was a single worker on the account the whole time. Although he may have been using rotating IPs. Definitely gonna recover the account, however I did swap gold onto it from my mule like once or twice so I hope that doesn't mess up my chances.

I guess I just didn't expect a macroing major for fishy IP stuff, but apparently it does happen.

 

They obviously botted on your account, imagine they do this with a number of people so they would need to run multiple clients on powerful computers with bots running in order to keep up with business.
In 11 months account progress with two jobs i still manged to get 2100 total from making a brand new account in the beginning months avg 15-16 hours a day playtime. they would not punish you for that , my advice is try to get the ban squashed and play legit from there

 

Yeah I was checking the hiscores daily, there was 100% great progress being made and the XP rates seemed reasonable, although it was 12 hours a day ish.

I confirmed the quest cape was done personally.

 

Yeah he did provide me with screenshots of the progress straight from the worker. Why do you ask? So I could possibly check if it was botted?

One ban can be freak-accident, like @Lucky Charm explained, but two times is just too much.
Service provider als never bothered to inform you, which is shady and very bad. There might be more to this provider that you do not know.

 

Thanks for the advice guys. Just appealed saying it was hijacked. Will not be doing anything but playing legit from now on if I get it back. Also will not be using the service provider and will be asking for my money back appropriately based on what happens with the account.

 

Even if you get your acc back - a squashed ban devaluates it economically (harder to sell). You should ask for your money back regardless of the outcome

Got the account back! They said:

"The good news is I'm pleased to let you know that we identified a period of unusual activity around the time of the offence, and have removed any which occurred during this time as we believe they weren't committed by the account owner."

Not sure if that means I got some progress removed or not (all?) but I'm gonna be asking for a full refund. I kind of don't believe the provider that nobody botted on the account since it got banned twice. Also, he didn't tell me which is not good.

 

Glad it got unbanned! And yes indeed that is a good choice, if the seller has a Sythe profile it might also be good to make a scam report so there is a record of all this.

 

I’m addition to a refund the provider has offered to level other accounts for me.

Am I right to be suspicious about this? I could make a new account for him to level but don’t want to risk my main that has the quashed ban. It seems quite easy for Jagex to put it together that another one of my accounts created on the same IP is getting worked on from a foreign IP etc.

 

There's little to no chance that something would happen to your main from a potential offense related to a different account. That could potentially happen in a RWT scenario where you trade gold between a mule and main but not in the case of botting.
