    Police

Somehow I feel that the police are doing way more than what they've been doing a few years ago.

It could be the economy, with the shape it's in right now, I'm not surprised more police activity has been going on in a neighborhood that's as safe as the one I'm currently put in.

But, now, they've gone so far as to give tickets for J-walking.

    What about you guys?

The police are actually pretty calm around me(Downtown Atlanta), though it doesn't sound likely. I Jwalk constantly, and I've never gotten a ticket or anything. I believe it has nothing to do with the economy; cops are just money hungry naturally.

If I recall correctly, they just recently raised the prices of most fines(Such as speeding, DUI, etc) by 2x+?

Cops aren't paid on a commission, otherwise you'd be hammered for walking out your door.

I personally haven't seen a change to cops 'cracking down' locally. The farthest I can say is Sheriff Joe Arpaio (the famous racist Sheriff) doing more illegal immigration checks, with is constitutionally legal.

I don't think cops are doing more than they did, the area i'm in has gotten a lot rougher. But ticketing for j walking is just outrageous, that's just abusing your power.

Two people already got tickets or charges for jwalking on the school walk connecting school grounds to the other small road, maybe it's just the cops near my area.
