Heftier Punishment for Auth Code Sellers

I'm honestly sick of looking at the RuneScape section and having 75% of it being auth code sellers/buyers. It's not allowed by the stickies. If they honestly don't care enough to read a sticky, punish them for it.

Addition: Just a thought.. mods should hard delete the threads, or edit the posts to remove the information. Locking the thread, does some good, but when it still says "Add [email protected]" they are still able to buy sell and trade them.

Agreed, most of the sellers are also scammers that are either trying to get your auths or steal a few bucks which is pathetic.

    +1 to this idea.^_^

To be honest I disagree Sythe is a community and a market.
Theres always scams in about anything you try to sell.
you can get scammed on accounts, pins and even auths.
I infact think that auths should not even be a rule here..

    I agreed 100%. I don't get why this rule isn't being inforced.

You can only sell a pin once, then it's unavailable. The problem is with auth codes is in theory I could sell my auth code for $5, 20 times, making $100, but it then gets banned for everyone.

There is no way to transfer 'ownership' of it.

Well like I stated about anything you can get scammed of.
Same with the pin I can say I'm selling pins "Random Numbers" and sell them to people.Related to the auth code.

You're not one to talk, Kenny. You were trying to sell auths on msn :p

But yeah, selling auths should be an instant 2 week+ ban.

You're reading what Feren is saying, but not understanding it.
You cannot buy sole ownership of the auth code. You can sell an account, you can sell a pin, and someone else with own it. Sure, it can get recovered or revoked, whatever, but you were the only person in possession of it after you purchased it.

With auth codes, you can be unknowingly purchasing something that a ton of other people own.

I think auth selling should give at least a 2 week ban. It's simply not profitable to sell auths without scamming. If you only sell it to one person you haven't covered the cost of buying it since nobody would buy it for more than what it officially costs. The only legitimate reason for selling an auth would be if you didn't have a use for it any more but IMO that's not enough to allow auth selling.

    Franklin, use your head.
If I give you account information, and you change it, it is yours unless you allow other people access to it.

If I give you an auth code, I can give it to someone else and you would have no means to restrict them from accessing it.

    Do you see the difference?

Here, Franklin, let me try to explain.

Say there's a clubhouse, with a secret code to get in. You tell a friend the code to get in, and he tells a friend to get in. That's 3 people(You, the friend, and his friend) that know the code. You can't make them forget it.

Now, there's a clubhouse, but with a lock on the door to get in. You give your friend the ONLY key to get in, and he gives the key to his friend. His friend is the only one left with the key, unless he does something with it, or someone steals it.

Now; first example is an auth code. MULTIPLE people can own it at a time, however, with example 2, being an account, only 1 person can have it at a time. If that's not clear enough, you need to just leave this thread.

If we support this.. I think there should also be a much heftier offense for cheat sellers over in the steam section. Warning/Reporting them doesn't seem to be working.
