    Life, The point?

Now i know this is a deep topic but think about it. Do we make a difference?
Within the human world we may make a difference but externally we make no difference apart from damage. The only difference we have made is the current process of destroying our planet. Also Opinions on climate change, im kind of worried for Humans is this the end?
    Opinions?

About climate change, most people aren't worried about, and they'd rather leave it for the future generations to solve.

    Life, The point?

    That's not selfish at all.

On topic, as Schnell said, while life itself may be inherently pointless, one can still seek to enrich the world and the lives of others through their actions.

    Life, The point?

    My answer that I pondered:

    If i were dead now
    surely i'd be forgotten
    it matters not now

I hope you were being sarcastic.

Many of our actions count for nothing in this world. But many others affect the lives of those close to you.

    Deep discussion? Not at all.

There is no point to life.

Of course I was being sarcastic, I find it disgusting that people think it is too hard for them to address something, and it should be left to the people who will bear the consequences of their lack of action.

Saying 'There is no point to life' and saying 'life is pointless' are in my mind two different ideas.

While there may be no 'meaning of life' beyond reproduction to further the evolution of humans as a whole, at an individual level there is an 'obligation' to enrich the lives of others and the species as a whole.

Saying 'life is pointless' implies life is not worth living or experiencing, and is in essence a waste of time.

To enjoy yourself and achieve whatever goals you set yourself.

About climate change; even if it is all true, you will be dead by the time anything major happens, so why bother doing anything about it?

Once you're dead, you cease to exist, it won't matter to you because there will be no 'you' for it to matter to.

That only works if you're cynical enough to think that way, some people feel so guilty about pollution they have to choose between driving a shitty electrical car and constantly feeling guilty.

People are different, and so are the things they need to feel happy about their life.

The point of life is to live, whatever happens past there is life.

    Some people aren't voraciously selfish.

    Life, The point?

The world was in a much better shape when it wasn't "the world", or, when humans weren't here. Nonetheless, it would only be irrational to say that the humans have done nothing positive for the world.

As for climate change, it's a long run to an inevitable end. Meaning, we can delay it, but as for stopping it, I simply don't see the ambition in humanity.

No human ambition can stop climate change. Our times are unusually stable, on the large scale.

I'm extremely confident that if every human on the face of this planet was devoted to genuinely doing something about the climate change, to their fullest, we could.

However, like I said, humanity lacks that ambition, as a whole.

It'd be for our children's generation, if you choose to have kids that is.

    Life, The point?

Probably the third time I have answered.

Life is about reproduction. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be life. It's a circle that has virtually no meaning besides the very premise of self-existence.

I have also argued previously that 'the meaning of life is life itself.'

And I still hold this position, with observance to the fact that people have different conceptions of the phrase.

The statement is true if the 'meaning of something' is 'its function and why it exists'.

The statement is not necessarily true if the 'meaning of something' refers instead to the emotional and subjective value something has to the observer.

If one refers to the 'meaning of life' in this sense, then it simply has whatever meaning/value one assigns to it. -- It's subjective.

If you hold that 'life is meaningless' then you have simply failed to assign your life value.

True, also everyone would have a different argue if they had a religion.
The point is IF you have a religion you would like to make it to heaven at all.
A atheist would like to try everything to escape the death and try everything posibble in the world.
