Re-Do The Rules

I posted this a while ago: http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=666516 and it was denied as I was banned. I dunno who denied it, but they didn't provide a really good reason, and it had quite a bit of support.

Anyways, I've decided to resurrect the old post,and I was going to attach a poll to it, but I don't think the option is enabled in this section. Oh well, support or hate!

Note that these rules are not different than the current Sythe rules, they are merely cleaned up, and organized in a neater fashion.

The Sythe.Org Official Rules

Sythe.Org has a variety of Rules and Regulations each user must obey to ensure the security, and safety of theirs, and others' accounts. Any user found to be in violation of these rules may be subject to a disciplinary action.

Please note that the staff of Sythe.Org reserve the right to warn, infract, or ban for any unconscionable act. The following rules and associated punishments only apply when the Sythe.Org staff reasonably conclude that a user does not deserve a more severe form of punishment for whatever unconscionable act they may have been involved in.

How Sythe.Org Works

• Users will receive infractions for rule breaking actions.

• Any user who receives 5 infractions will receive a 14 day temporary ban.

• Any user who receives 7 infractions will receive a 31 day temporary ban.

• Infractions will expire after 31 days.

• Users who have had several temporary bans may receive a permanent ban.

• Users may be instantly banned for certain rules. These bans may vary in time.

Users Will Receive 1 Infraction for the Following
​

• Spamming

1. Posting short, unhelpful messages such as "cool", "nice account", etc.
2. Flooding a forum with replies for the sole purpose of increasing ones post count. Doing so in certain forums may result in a temporary, or permanent ban from using that forum.
3. Posting messages with little, or no relevance to the topic of the thread.
4. Incessant posting within a topic to keep it at the top of the forum's thread list. (Otherwise known as bumping). Such is allowed if the topic has not had activity for a while.

• False Accusations

1. Accusing someone of scamming without proof.
2. Accusing someone of scamming with text logs as your only proof. (They are not accepted.)

• Begging

1. Asking for free items, free accounts, and such.
2. Asking for a rank, or moderator status.

• Infraction Complaints

1. Asking about an infraction, or ban, anywhere except in the Dispute Forum.
2. Whining about an infraction, or ban, anywhere except in the Dispute Forum.
3. Requesting removal of an infraction, or ban, anywhere except in the Dispute Forum.

• Selling Free Products

1. Attempting to sell, or market, any item which is free, and easy to obtain. Selling the method of how to acquire the item, however, is permitted in the appropriate forums.

• Signature Violations

1. Having a signature over 350 pixels in height, or over 650 pixels in width. This includes all text, quotes, and pictures. Repeating violators may lose their signature privileges.

• Flaming

1. Excessive cursing, insults, and/or derogatory comments towards another user.

• Advertising MiddleMan Services

1. The posting of yours or another person's MiddleMan services outside of User Services, MiddleMan Application Forums, or signatures.

• Referral Links

1. Posting referral links to other sites, surveys, games, or anything similar outside of signatures.

Users Will Receive a 31 Day Ban for the Following
​

The following rules will merit a 31 Day Ban on your first offense only. Further offenses will result in a Permanent Ban from Sythe.Org.

• Warez

1. Posting direct downloads to Warez*.
2. Posting links to websites related to Warez*.
3. *Warez is seen as: Full Length Motion Pictures (Movies), Completed Seasons of a Television Show (1-2 Episodes are permitted), Shareware Programs, Copyrighted Content, Cracks, Serial Codes, and things of similar nature.

• Advertising

1. Postings that link, or advertise personal websites. (These are only allowed in personal signatures).
2. Advertising a business website, gold farming websites, and such is not allowed anywhere. However, you may purchase links by e-mailing [email protected].

• Pornographic Material

1. Posting or linking to: Pictures, Videos, Websites with Pornography, or anything like that is not permitted.
2. Risque material may be construed as pornography, as it is up to the staff of Sythe.Org to decide what they see as pornography, so it is wise to simply avoid posting such content.

• Plagiarism

1. Posting images, graphics, guides, content, or anything like such without express permission from the owner, and/or claiming it as your own. (A ban from the respective forum will result, as well as the 31 day ban).

Users Will be Banned Permanently for the Following
​

• Scamming

1. Taking items, accounts, or anything else from users without their express permission, and/or without fulfilling both ends of a deal.
2. Suspicious Behavior in regards to the first item in this list.
3. Impersonating other members.
4. Counter-Scamming.

• Password Cracking

1. Creating, helping to create, using, discussing, and/or distributing any form of cracking software.
2. Attempting to brute force, backdoor, or hack into a users account.

• Infected Files

1. Posting, or linking to, files which contain keyloggers, viruses, trojans, or anything similar.

• Account Sharing

1. Allowing other people to access your Sythe.Org account. Only the original account owner may ever access their created account.

• Ban Evasion

1. Creating a new account while another account of yours is banned.

• Being Hacked

1. If at any time your recorded MSN or Sythe account is compromised, and the compromiser scams materials, you, as the account owner, are solely responsible for fully refunding those who were scammed by the hacker. After such is done, you will be considered for an unbanning.

These rules are subject to change at any time at the discretion of Sythe.Org. Users are expected to be aware of such changes on their own.

 

Looks better. Still don't see anything about botnets or if the staff don't like you.

You need to add something about botnets and referral links for survey sites.

It's much clearer then the other rules,

however, even though these are already current rules, the rules in my opinion should be left up to the admins to outline. If they're happy with the current thread, then there's no reason to change it.

Botnets aren't against the rules. I read them thoroughly, and they were not on there. (Using them could be considered an unconscionable act, though.)

The referral links one is already on there? It's below 'Advertising Middleman Services'.

I dont think itsa certain number I think its if you get many in a short amount of time.

 

I dunno, I haven't figured it out yet.
