profile comments

I don't know if this goes along with shoutbox but I don't think it does

Like people can leave comments in other people's profile?

No thanks. Would cause a ton of flaming and issues.

 

You could remove them if you want.

 

This is a huge issue on RSbot.org and one of the reasons I do not go on that website anymore. People lie and flame in profile comments constantly there. This would be a world of extra work for the mods.

 

Not really a lot of work, since you are in control of whether you want the profile comments to stay or not on your profile

 

What exactly is the point in this? Like, why can't we just PM each other?

I suppose. I don't really see it necessary, but I don't have anything against it.

 

It'd work as long as you had it like Myspace or Facebook where you have to accept certain messages to your board.

I don't see any good in this idea whatsoever.

People will flame on other peoples walls and mods will have to deal with that.
People will post unnecessary things on your wall to make it look bad. If you want profile comments go to myspace or something.

 

Read above. You would have the option of letting the comment appear on your profile or not.

What if someone posts something bad on your wall and you don't want it approved but you go and report them for flaming or for whatever they did. You may not report them but others will.

 

1. You can approve it if you want or not if they are flaming you
2. How will they report if they can't see it?

 

Shut up fatih clearly you dont read but you act like it and post anyway.

Totally agree would be much better than pming and waiting a while for a reply kind of like an instant message sounds fun.

 

No point to put more strain on the servers for no reason.

1. I know. If they are flaming you then you can deny the comment from appearing on your wall. Some people would want to report that person to the mods for attempting to flame their wall. How? Screen show of the comment before you approve.

 

How about an option to simply turn off the inbox messages?
