[Approved] Add pictures to all subforums

Currently, most subforums have an icon:



And others have this:



My suggestion is to fill all these blue icons/circles with icons. It will make the forums look more professional and add to the overall aesthetic. Plus, you could reuse icons from other sections if you want!

 

Makes sense, I support. There are only a dozen or so with blue circles, and we can easily crowdsource recommendations in exchange for prizeboxes or something.

 

In the past, these "tidy up Sythe" type suggestions have largely fallen on deaf ears due to "more pressing" suggestions. I'm OCD as heck so I completely agree with all of the correctional suggestions you're making.

Would you guys participate in a CDT led event that included a significant BTC prize for first place?

 

I think we would get non-GFXers participation for a “significant btc” prize lol

My only issue, though, is how would we determine a winner? Several subforums need icons. What if we like some from one user and some from another? Would it be whoever created the most that people like?

Or are we going to go one by one and have a winner for each? Although this idea would take a while, it would drag out and give more people the opportunity to win. Plus, it kinda plays into the SOTM idea, but instead “Icon of the month” or whatever time frame.

I suggest that the prize pool be split. You win a piece for each of your icons that wins.
Let the community vote and make the submissions anonymous by having people send them to someone, just like on CDT events.

 

I agree. Let's say the prize pool is $150 and there are ten icons. The winner(s) would earn $15 per icon. Seems like the most logical way to do it.

With that said, I don't foresee this as a community voting event. I would imagine it would be the owner's decision.

 

I like the idea of doing each section one at a time, so there are multiple competitions throughout the year. The downside is that people will lose interest (like most things) over time, and fewer people will participate.
