Hopefully everyone is enjoying their holidays thus far, I'm here to announce a small rule change as well as our Christmas Community Repayment celebration and the 2021 Sythe Awards.

Services Rule Change

Following recent events we will be adjusting our rules regarding account services to provide more protection and clarity to both customers and service providers who deal with restricted accounts like Ironmen.

Old Rule:

Prior to the start of a service, the service provider MUST inform the customer that any valuables should be removed from the account. Failure to follow this rule may be grounds for a TWC, market ban, or further consequences.

New Rule:

Prior to the start of a service, the service provider MUST inform the customer that any valuables should be removed from the account. In cases of restricted accounts such as Irons, service providers MUST agree with customers to a predetermined result of situations involving lost items and/or the loss of game-mode. Failure to do so may result in disputes being awarded to the buyer by default and/or punishment for bad trading practices being applied.

This new rule requires more clear statements from both parties about liability in the event items are lost during a service.

Christmas Community Repayment

I am proud to say that our new Community Repayment section has been a great success thus far, and in the spirit of the holidays we will once again be repaying the full balance of everyone that is currently eligible for a grand total of $3696. If you are eligible to be repaid please see this post for more information on collecting your funds!

Our Community Repayment system is one of my absolute favourite parts of this site, so I'd like to extend a special thank you to everyone that has helped made this possible.

Sythe Awards 2021 Voting

And lastly, voting for the annual Sythe Awards has begun, so head on over and vote for the best (and worst) of 2021.

I'd also like to note that @Gen will be stepping down from his position as an Admin, thank you for all of your contributions to the site over the years.

Regarding the rule change: I wish this was posted earlier, before that one guy had to pay like a few billions of 07 gp (I'm just being a dick, but it's deserved!).
