Report a scammer section is dead.

It's ridiculous tbh. Reports haven't been answered ever since [N]ick resigned. I've got 3 or 4 reports open at the moment. One or two of them have been up for 1-2 weeks with no response.. bumped them 3-4 times.

Inb4 use the RaS as a reference before you trade with someone

Yeah, that's nice and all.. but what's the point of having rules if you aren't going to enforce them because mods are too lazy to handle a couple reports per day.

 

You'll just get bitched at about how moderators are volunteers and they're basically not required to do anything. Pointless to make a thread about it, but I agree.

If people didn't report people without proof, then there would be a lot less threads and it would seem a lot better and less horrid... >_>.

 

I do agree with you there, but the reports with proof still deserved to be answered. Using the RaS section as an index to search for people shouldn't be necessary. If someone scams, they should be banned etc etc.

And it really doesn't take that much time to archive threads without proof.

 

Hahanerd45, that takes about five minutes if you have horrible connection. Look at the pictures, see if they say anything, if they don't, ARCHIVE em. Then move on.

 

It's obvious that there needs to be some changes. As I said in my resignation, a large portion of the work was(and is) being done by a select few.

Now the two problems that arise are:

• The lack of staff members
• How banal and tedious reports are

Promoting new members to staff is more burdensome than I'm sure a lot of people realize. Not only do they have to be highly trusted(as soon as I got staff, people had me doing $300.00+ trades), they have to be mature. These two things are, unfortunately, what ninety-five percent of our member-base lack. Potential staff members have to be able to represent Sythe.org professionally.

With that being said, having vast inactively in the moderator-related report forum isn't admirable. The administration has taken steps in the last few months to remove the 'political positions'(moderators who do not moderate), but I am afraid that isn't enough.

Doing a few reports a week isn't arduous, Matt was able to do it a few minutes ago. If everyone on staff did the same, soon no reports would go unanswered. I remember doing the math a few weeks ago.

Although it's kind of you guys to say, having myself as a solution isn't suitable. Everyone on staff would need to get on board.

Viper, Unbanned, Darkgroove, and Giddy all middleman. Matthew does occasionally via email communication. I don't know about Daily.

 

Nobody likes that section, so I vote we make a bot to do it for us, just a little something that bans everyone.

 

Sounds like a good idea. Like a text field where you enter someone's name and it bans them. :nuts:

The best solution though would be more staff members.
