When will Mars be Colonized?

What if we construct a gigantic sling shot with ends the size of the Eiffel tower?

Just launch things up there and then maneuver them by using little force.

 

I was watching a documentary a few years ago talking about the colonization of life. However the fact is it takes 6 months at current space shuttle speed to get to mars. I do not think it will happen in at least then next 150 years. It would be ridiculously expensive and not worth it.

 

Nah, never going to happen. We'll probably colonize the moon though.

 

I belive living on mars would be eaisier than living underwater. Water is by far the heaviest object known to man & if they can build houses deep down that can hold hundres if not thousand of metric tons I belive mars would be no different, So what the climate is different. 80 Years ago people would of never expected to land on the moon. 40 Years the later it happend. Been 40 Years now since man first landed on the moon. Like it said. The biggest break threw ever. I belive man will live on mars in the next 40-60 years, If not more.

 

Mars is pretty far off, but its pretty cool how we're trying to colonize the moon right now. Mars will come in due time after that.

It will be done around 2050 TBH. We'll probably make attempts in 2035 but there is no way it will be done that early. If we can't even get space ships to far away planets we won't be able to build a city on Mars.

 

LoL, saying the moon doesn't exist is like saying that the ISS (International Space Station) does not exist either. Obviously the fumes from the "space shuttles" are fake, and seeing that shuttle bust through our atmosphere is fake as well. /end sarcasm.

Basically, wtf is there to say that if we can send dozens of satellites into our atmosphere, that we could not go the extra mile and send to Mars/Moon. In space, no energy is required to speed up, via Newtons third law. So yes, although Jagex has not made space shuttles/ a moon in runescape, it is possible to get to the moon.

 

It will be colonized when it can support life. Which it can't.

 

Firstly, what's stopping any other government from setting up a colonization plan for Mars. I mean, sure America has NASA but we mustn't forget that the Russians were also space pioneers. Please correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they launch the first thing into space?
You can't put a date on this sort of thing but it is driven by ambition. Anything is possible these days. I'd say later than 2035 because we would have to have already started planning etc.
It's a big task, it's a long way away and it is also a very barren planet.
We'll see.

i dont know, probobly not soon. maybe in 2 hundred years. with all the money that we owe to china etc and how much the us is in debt i doubt people with have the funds to really heavily concentrate. but maybe china would go faster

I'm guessing never, since a single person has yet to go there, and it can't sustain life naturally.

 

That exact same thing could be said about the moon in the 50's.
