Virus or not?

My ca Antivirus- plus is finding these files. Is it a virus or not? It's saying low but I"m still worried. And It gives me no option to remove them. It just shows the close option at end of scan. Any help here please?

 

What are they? Cookies, worms, trojans... eh? Give us a bit more details

 

From my expierence with Anti Virus programs low security risks tend to be basic internet cookies. As the person above me said if you could perhaps provide a screenshot we could probably decide for you what type of threat is present.

 

I don't know :S. IT is saying its a "P2P". All I know is, it's in my registry.

If the threat is considered low than it is more than likely not a virus. If you are still worried post a picture.

 

Google the file name

 

If it's something like uTorrent, then ignore it. CA AntiVirus is filled with false positives.

ProudCheater: I googled it, it says that it was a p2p program a long time ago, which has been shut down. But the thing is, I never downloaded "Grokster".

Well I googled Grokster, clicked on the site, it said the Supreme Court or some shit shut down the website and my ip had been logged and I was not anonymous. It said it had been involved in illegal motion picture copyright infringement. Were you ever into pirating music and movies? Could explain the source

 

I went there too. And no, I do not use p2p programs. I did download Utorrent once, but deleted it. I have not downloaded grokster. And btw, I don't really think that your IP has been logged.

Ummm.. I would, but the thing is in my registry. And I am not that smart. I don't want to mess with my registry :s.

 

Ok its not a virsus but DEFINITION files in all Anti-Virus that have been updated consider it a threat. let it get removed. You will be fine. If you do P2P then get utorrent. its alwasy safe and always has been.

I just confirmed it for you. I have been doing this for years lol

grokster is an old P2P sharing software same with kazaa but now is deemed non existent or extinct. you should delete as it will just be a burden on your system running old extinct programs.

That isn't the point you don't have to. It IS there from something.. Some software did it. Point is is that you should just delete it.

 

Yeah, same thing happened to me when I went on edonkey2000's website when RIAA (dirty bastards) shut it down, they said they logged my IP and I was not annonymous also. Don't worry those pricks can't do anything, they are just scaring you. I just thought I should let you know, because I was trippin ballsacks, when I saw my IP was logged. haha. Don't worry. Fuck RIAA they need to get nuked.

 

But see I had this problem before I went to the website. Even if it is a prank or w.e, I don't think that's my problem.
