WoW Vs. Aion; the ultimate debate

A lot of people who have been playing WoW forever say that they might very well migrate over to Aion. Personally, I'm thinking about it, but would like to see some other people's opinions before I do. Vote in the poll, justify your answers and let's see what everyone thinks ^_^

 

I'm most likely buying Aion today, so I'll let you know how I like it if I do.

aion costs 60$ and there not even done with development, foolish.

 

Do you remember how much the first WoW memberships where? They've gone down quite a bit.

 

Membership has stayed the same, but when the first WoW came out it was only about $40 CAD.

 

WoW beta membership was $75.

Once the beta was over, 3 weeks I believe, they reduced the price and left it the same ever since.

Also, many members where filing complaints that the company was charging membership fees twice every other payment "taking extras" from the membership payments via credit card/online payment, hence doubling the price of the original payment.

 

Its not in development... Or not that I know of...

 

It's not officially complete hence the "development."

Same situation as WoW, not exactly the same development stages but extremely similar.

WoW is not complete, there are always more updates being added, however, Aion is not as developed as WoW hence it still being fairly new. Although it is out and done with beta it is still being developed into a better game then what it is now.

Looking at a gameplay video, so far it has the exact same UI as every f2p MMO and similar gameplay but with good graphics.
I don't know why you would switch over, the attack animations are pretty cool though.
Reminds me of last chaos.

 

I was thinking of going and buying this.

It looks decent, the gameplay looks really fun

 

The wait for the servers is just because they do not have the server power for all the users.... Its not the game its self....

 

WoW fails when you're a noob, therefore I hate it, I have never played Aion, or let alone heard of it until today. My type of games would have to be pixel chat rooms for the simple fact that they are easy to play, fun to play, and you can meet some pretty cool people (Habbo, Old Coke Music)

it should be WoW Vs Guild Wars Vs Aion, as the makers of aion are the makers of guild wars (PLAYNC/NCSoft).

I'm telling you right now, NCSoft are fucking raping blizzard up the bumhole, Guild Wars, and now Aion.. this is only just the beginning,

i'm a fulltime guild wars player and am telling you right now, Guild Wars 2 is already lined up and is going to be a BIG BIG hit on WoW.

Aion may be better, may not be better then WoW, but I can guarentee you right now, Guild Wars 2 WILL be better then WoW, no discussions.

EDIT:: Also, this game is not in development too much. it was first realesed to koreans for beta in like late 2008. and officially released to koreans in like march...

 

I played Aion for 30 minutes to an hour earlier. It's pretty similar to WoW as far as beginning gameplay and the interfaces...

I tried to duel someone on a melee character and I failed horribly. I am good at dueling on WoW with melee but it's very hard to move the camera angle to get your character to face theirs while trying to run around casters to attack, because when you are moving the camera angle and hitting hotbar keys it makes your mouse visible and you can run your mouse to the side of the screen which screws things up.

I have yet to decide whether WoW is better in my opinion, though. I'll have to play it some more.

 

It's really an impossible question to answer.
WoW clearly exceeds in ways, but only because it's been around for longer, expansions have been made, loads of patches.

WoW at launch vs. Aion at launch?
Aion has to take the crown for that, I'm sure everyone who voted for WoW has either never played Aion or is taking all the expansions and massive updates for WoW in mind too.

Guild Wars sucks...dont wanna waist my money for a repeat...

 

Well, it's got stellar graphics, but Guild Wars was concentrated on the storyline.
This game is more like WoW in that field.
It focuses on the storyline, but not really.
I'm going to have to go with Aion -- Played once at a friends.
And I'm pretty much addicted.
I'm buying the game tomorrow.
Which server should I go onto? I know there's a recommended server,
but I like to hear what the public on other forums, not just the official site,
because we all know that the real gamers never post on the original site,
but have their own opinions, and they share them with the competitive
communities, not the newbies.

I got one question though, any played the PvP yet?
I want to know if it's pretty decent.
I love pwn'in some nubs online ftw.

 

Aion may drag alot of wow players away but tis just going to fail like WaR, all of those deserters will come back and start grinding the same old raids over and over again

I was very impressed with the graphics ,unlike with guild wars where altho it looks nice the graphics of the game are not as good as people think , everything was flat and had no depth but Aion has really stepped it up a notch.
