This is a disgusting display of what I like to call sauce-headism. Tough idiots in high school that decide they're going to beat up whom ever they feel like.. Although antagonizing law enforcement by throwing things at them is an idiotic idea as well.

Is there some sort of news article to go with this?

EDIT: Wow, my friend goes to this school.. I'm going to ask him if he was there

That video is useless without background info.

All I see is idiots throwing rocks at the police and breaking windows, and police trying to calm the streets down. Then you have the other idiots who stand in the crowd and expect the police to see who is rioting and who's a "bystander".

    What started this?

Justice is always prevailed. The state police is sent into a crowd to keep "crowd control" which is what they're obviously doing.

As I stated, police provide crowed control. They do not exceed the use of force unless necessary. As everyone knows; the public only shows what they want you to see.

i.e; Rodney King - Icon for African-Americans and racial abuse. Public videos where only shown of the police beating him, while it was necessary.

Police will always get get blamed when the only footage of their actions are what the public choose to show.

None of the police exams are the same. They vary from states, however the stages of all police exams (physical and mental exam) includes the same crowd control training. All branches of police have the same CC training (police); does not include FBI, DEA, Military, etc. Only; State, Township, and Highway.

If they feel the event is getting to the point to where they feel certain subjects are in harm of themselves or others they will use appropriate force to manage and gain control of the situation. Which is what they're taught.

You saw that there was no threat in the building in the short 9 minutes of the video?

Wow, did you not read. ^It says it wasn't in the video. If that actually happened, I'd say that is police brutality. What the police did in the video is justified but cornering a group of innocent kids? Come on...

    1. The video is from the students' point of view, and doesn't show why they went into to building.

    2. Rioters don't wear uniforms, it isn't obvious to the police who is rioting or not, all they see is a crowd of civilians.

    3. Tear gas isn't that bad. "My eyes hurt, boo hoo..." Give me a break.

A case of police brutality? Probably.

The sign of a growing American Police state? Dubious...

They are correct that this doesn't tell them the whole story, but gassing people who are on staircases watching, not wearing bandannas? That's just uncalled for.

I also found it very funny how they claimed it to be unlawful to be at the gathering.

This kind of thing has been going on since the 1800s

    not surprised

and lol @ the clown who said the Rodney King beating was "necessary"

please tell me how an unarmed man posed a threat to those police, stop trying to defend the police when they it's clear they aren't the most level headed citizens

    o_O

    are you serious?

these are the same people that suggest water boarding "isn't that bad" either

how about you I tear gas you and see how you feel.

You clearly have done no research in specific cases such as Rodney King's.

Do you know what the term "subdued" means; suspect is handcuffed and in control.

As long as a man refuses to place his hands behind his back to he can be cuffed he is not subdued, and he still poses a threat to the officers trying to arrest him.

Lets look at some facts that where caused to his beating -

    • On/Broke his parole
    • Under the influence of PCP and alcohol
    • Evading the police (speeding)
    • Wife beater

That, with the exception of other violations of the law / his parole, he also attempted to hit a female officer after pushing a male officer.

    His beating wasn't deserved?

Maybe you need to also do some research on the drug "PCP" and figure out what it's ability's are while under the influence of it.

Can you prove they were throwing anything atall? They didn't mention anything in the video about throwing anything upon them(The police). They also, didn't tell them to get down from the staircase because of the harm they could cause if they were to throw items upon them.

You are asking for proof about claims you made yourself towards the police.

I highly doubt that all of the Pittsburgh state police are corrupt and abusers (which you are stating)

I also doubt that they just picked out a random building to go into for no reason. There was obviously a threat inside of that building that caused them to enter.

There was a potential threat. Which there is in anything. They took unneeded percautions toward "solving the problem". They could have just passed the people in the staircases, and let them be. But they followed them up the stairs, trapped them, and sprayed them.

And this was to multiple place. That was not the only one. Stop being so defensive. I'm not placing 100% of the blame on the police, I acknowledged that it could be mostly the fear of the riot. But I also know, that there is no need to corner students off, and spay them.

Spray them? They gassed the area, once. Which could or couldn't have been necessary. Since we don't know we cant tell.

However, it is far from abuse. They could have gotten beaten or shot with rubber bullets instead of gassed once, which shows the "non-corruptness" of the police officers. Minimal precaution was taken. It could have been much worse.

SINCE there was minimal action taken this proves that the police where not abusing their powers which leads evidence to activity's inside the school being done by the students.

Whats wrong with that statement? :p

They asked the student if the officer abused them.

    The STUDENT.

That is like a black man being arrested and put into the back of a police car yet he files a complaint because he claims the officer "beat him" when the camera in the car shows otherwise. Yet the man arrested doesn't realize there is a camera in the car and drops the complaint.

I'm glad you can see beyond the 8:56 of the video length.

There is nothing to be open minded about. You are trying to claim you offered a valid opinion when you are only siding with the students in the video and trying to blame police for the use of "excessive amount of force."
