Sythe Email Registration.

I found it very silly how when I joined this site, I didn't get an email to confirm my account. That is a very bad idea for any website, because banned users will come back immediately after being banned. On other websites they usually give up after they run out of emails (scammers are generally lazy).

 

Hm, so it takes them 30 seconds longer to join? They could just make a new one in a few seconds.

 

actually setting up an email address will take up to 10 minutes for the average 11 year old - this would turn off over half the ban evaders in my opinion.

 

Not really bro, they can easily steal from www.facebook.com or www.myspace.com or even go to www.msn.com and make a fast hotmail msn, which takes 2min tops lol.

 

Not if they have to register the email, then they will need the password aswell...which is what my suggestion is.

 

Seeing how easy it is for users to trust random strangers here, I doubt a ten minute delay would prevent a $50.00 scam. Matthew/Sythe have better things to add with their time.

 

Most ban evaders take the time to create new emails anyway; on a trading site, it's hard to use an old email without getting caught. In fact, I consider it to be a major indication of a ban evader for someone's first listed MSN address to be their sythe name @hotmail/live/yahoo.com >.<
