No one will buy your junk from you for free when they could just buy it from the grand exchange. Try offering something in exchange for buying it.

Ok, I found buyers in-game, all that is left is an ancient staff, but I have seeds and herbs in my bank if you are interested in that.

Meatwad, the Reason behind some items being called 'Junk' is because they are precisely that. Noone wants to buy these items because usually there is such a high supply of it, and so little demand, an example of these items are Willow logs. On Sythe, you do not advertise that you are just "selling Junk", as there has to be some incentive for them to want to buy it from you instead of just going into the GE and buying it without the hassle of organizing a trade in-game with you.
99% of the time, people buying Junk will buy it for a Real-life ammount of money via Paypal... hence the reason behind Active Member saying noone will buy it for free, only for a price... because what would they do with the junk afterwards? If they really wanted the items, they could buy them from the Grand Exchange and not from you.
