    vBulletin clearly does not test for Javascript enabled browsers correctly.

    Otherwise Javascript features such as the drop down User CP, Search and Quick Links menus would work with Google Chrome.

    Plus, as Ryan also stated, Why fix something that isn't broken?

    I too want the new vB. It has all the cool stuff like rep and thanks button. And solve report button. It'd be a big help. ;)

    Sythe once explained to me why an upgrade to vBulletin isn't feasible.
    Basically, the database would need to be converted for use with a newer version.
    Sythe.org has a massive database. When you convert massive databases, things often go wrong.
    An attempted upgrade could be disastrous, resulting in days of downtime.

    Even the most recent version of vBulletin does not solve the Chrome issue; I have seen it with upgraded forums. There must be a one-line fix that could just be manually edited in somewhere, though.

    But the drop down user CP doesn't work?!

    I'd gladly wait many weeks for this fix.

    Apparently it doesn't work in the newest version of vB either.

    vBulletin clearly does not test for Javascript enabled browsers correctly.

    It is, simple change this in vbulletin_global.js, line 42:
    Code:
    var is_saf    = ((userAgent.indexOf('applewebkit') != -1) || (navigator.vendor == 'Apple Computer, Inc.'));

    to

    Code:
    var is_saf    = ((userAgent.indexOf('applewebkit') != -1) || (navigator.vendor == 'Apple Computer, Inc.') [I]|| (userAgent.indexOf('chrome') != -1)[/I]);

    Since chrome is based on webkit, it makes it easier for vbulletin to just register it as safari.

    all in all though, it is certainly an ancient out-dated method of detection though, it'd be much simpler to send an ajax query first and check a return value to see if the browser supports it.
