Atheism is a stupid term/philosophy

The whole concept of atheism builds around what one DOESN'T believe in. Instead of basing your life about something you feel ISN'T real, "worship" what you do believe. You should, imo, be able to be inspired by the grandness of the universe, the powers of natural selection, and the bizarre quantum world. I don't see the point in having a conversation solely in negative terms when you could just as easily talk about what you DO believe. Just a thought I had... Does this make any sense, or am I just really high?

 

Atheists believe in everything BUT God, essentially.
Most atheists I know believe in something else, a rebuttal against Christianity or any other religion.

 

It makes sense if you're assuming that atheism is some kind of belief system or that they all share something.
It's just a term that means without god, that's all. The fact that it is necessary to call yourself an atheist sometimes is just a reflection on how deeply entrenched religion can be.

Atheism is more of an opinion/way of life, like religion. You can choose what to believe/not believe in. Rapist shouldn't tell children/young adults/adults what to believe in. Life is meant to be enjoyed not revolved around the Bible. I'm not atheist though so whatever lol.

 

It's not a religion or cult of sorts. It's moreso a vary vague bundle that the religious people categorize as "non believers".

Atheists don't share a common belief on the universe, and plenty of them are inspired by its grandness through different means than the assertion of God.

 

Atheism isn't something you "base your life around". You just don't base it around religion.

 

Not necessarily. Atheism is just a lack of a belief in a God. Some Atheists may believe that X is true, but that doesn't mean all Atheists believe that X is true.

That's basically a description of pantheism.

 

Once you think about it, atheists do believe in God, although they do not know it. God is considered a supernatural force, and one of the several definations of supernatural is - of, pertaining to, or being above or beyond what is natural; unexplainable by natural law or phenomena; abnormal. I believe that there is some unexplainable creator to all that there is. Just my opinion which you could say that I believe in "God".

Edit: I see no reason for a religion persay, I feel that I should lead a good honest life. I mean if there is an afterlife or not, there's really not much we can do to change how we are in it. We might as well focus on what's going on in our lives now, rather than something that's unstoppable that happens after we're dead. Just my opinion.

 

Wrong. A god is not just a supernatural force. A god is a self-aware being.

 

Im an antsiest, the think is (sorry if this offensive) but i dont have to spend my time thinking about God, i dont have to think about there is nothing like u think we do :/ we just enjoy life

 

I'm agnostic. I believe all of the different gods could be true. In my opinion you can believe whatever you as long as you stay open to other ideas. If I saw an angel floating down from the sky that is what I'm going to believe in.

Saying god is real. I know he's real. Nothing else is right..that is what creates problems. Because you don't really have proof for it or against it.

The two sides of the arguement are Faith and lack of proof.

I could say I believe in the flying purple pasta monster. I can have faith in it. And others can choose not to believe it it because they don't have physical evidence to back it up.

That's my opinion..

Its like people who are atheist but to the EXTREMEs like they will point out they dont belive in god at every given moment lol.
