[Denied] Hyperlink a Banned Users Username Image to the Original Ban Report

I don't know if this has been suggested before but I feel it would be really helpful for the greyed out name of a banned user to link to the original reason for their ban. Similar to the DNT 'funrank' that links to the report on why they were given their DNT. I don't know if this is possible as I feel like this would've been implemented way sooner if it were. If it is possible though, it would be nice to have it be linked.

If this has been suggested before and was denied, could you kindly share why so I am up to date.

I 100% support this and wish that was a thing.

 

Pre sure was suggested in the past, numerous times. IIRC, was denied due to forum software being unable to link it back to threads/reasons, for normal users. Staff can see said ban reasons thought in their M/ACP.

 

What is different about the username image being hyperlinked and the dnt funrank being hyperlinked, which we can see. Is it completely different or something?

 

The DNT rank is different to that of a banned rank - it is classed as a fun-rank, and as such, allows linked threads/reasons. Whereas the banned rank is not.

 

Maybe add another funrank to new bans on the side that users can click on? Maybe called ban reason? I know this would be difficult to add to every ban on sythe... but at least moving forward it would be a nice thing to add

 

Not going to happen, AFAIK. In part, the reasoning behind DNT was to rid the forum of the banned rank plaguing every section, thread, and post. I highly doubt further changes, or improvements will be banned to the banned rank. They aren't meant to be used that much anyway.

Personally I think this is a good suggestion, but sadly Sellerman speaks the truth. Evidently the "ban user" functionality is super duper old and not something that is easily changed. While it would seem like we could just hyperlink the "banned funrank" as we do DNT/TWC, it's just not straightforward to do so.

For what it's worth, almost all bans you see these days are either for the usual things (infraction buildup, self-vouching, scamming) or for serious offenses (serial evasion, major scamming). Both of these scenarios should be easy to track down by plopping a username into the search bar at the top of the site. And you can always ask if a user's ban reason isn't clear.

 

Ya I currently search the user and see the report to find out and that works fine. Was just hoping the hyperlink would be possible to make it easier. But I understand, thanks for the reply and clarification.
