Why is Sythe always down?

I notice that at least twice a day sythe wont load and i'll get the can't load page error. It happens a lot, i'm just curious why. Is it for working on the site or something? Anywho, i'm just wondering. It's no big deal

 

Happening all the time, here for over 2 years, and can't remember a day without this happening at least few times. Probably just resting the server, so it doesn't explode. :-D

 

w0w iv never had sythe down maybe like 1 or twice a week but nit every day...

 

The server is crap, evidently. It happens all the time - please get a new server(s)

 

You must be online at all the right times.It happens several times a day for me, but usually only like a minute or two at a time. Sometimes it is much longer, though.

 

There have been many threads about this... Many of the times, people try to ddos sythe, hence the server being down.

 

I'm not sure why this happens, but it's something about when the moderators are searching for an IP. A new server should fix this, we need one.

 

If you guys want to donate money so Sythe can get a new server thats better than the current one that costs like 300 a month, then go for it. Sythe gets attacked by botnets constantly, and IP searches take it down since the database is so large.

Start donating like 300 a month and beg Sythe to get a better server and we might get one.

 

Just out of curiosity if you don't mind me asking, who is it that actually attacks Sythe.org? Just random unhappy nerdlings? Or actually someone with a cause?

 

probably similar sites like the ones being spammed all over...

creators of other sites trying to keep getting sythe down so people will join their site.

 

And to the person who said buy a new server, do you know how long it would take to transfer all of this to a different server? And, most servers wouldn't put up with being constantly DDoS'd and botnetted, and probably just end the deal... So, lets have 100% down time, or occasional down time?

 

Deal with it, get off your computers and go outside for two minutes.

sythe, how does the website come back up after it's DoS'd is it the provider or you that has to do something?

or is the DoS simply blocking us from seeing it, i don't really understand.

is there no way it can be automaticly sorted?

and that surely means, as time goes on and more botnet's are blocked the less the threat to sythe.org is?

Denial of Service attack is when one person continiousally sends requests to the server which takes up bandwidth and eventually the server crashes.
