What is sythe gold used for?

I apologize if this isn’t the right section. But I usually put anything I’m not certain on where it should be, in this section.


Just curious what exactly sythe gold is used for? And why is it so cheap? I see people selling for as cheap as $0.005.

 

Think of it, if you will, as Richard’s very own cryptocurrency. It was created and secured in such a way that it could be used as valuable currency on-site, and is earned by forum activity passively, or forum contests actively.

The idea was that it would have uses to include site-related redemptions, whether that be miniranks or donor access; forum-sponsored gold shops; or any for-pay function the site might implement in the future.

As you can see, not much has been done with it. Whether it stays or goes will probably be decided when Richard and Matthew complete Xenforo 2.0.

What the heck is Xenforo 2.0 ?

 

This forum's software is named Xenforo. We've been using an older outdated version of it forever now and we've been awaiting the new update to be rolled out for quite some time now. It was supposed to be rolled out late last year. Aside of that we're also waiting for a User Center update which we've seen a teaser of somewhere in 2018 but that was also immediately the last time we've heard of it.

 

Hmmmm, so as far as anybody knows they could still be pretty far off from completing it than? And therefore, still far off from making my sythe gold worth anything real haha.

I might actually buy like $20-$30 worth of it right now. In hopes that maybe when and if they ever allow miniranks to be purchased with it, I’ll be able to maybe buy myself a worthwhile mini rank. Or I’ll just lose $20-$30 haha.
