An Update on Community Repayment

As some of you know, community repayment is one of my favorite things about this site. It's hard to remember a time without it but all in all this is still a relatively recent addition in the site's history.

Since its inception in October 2016 the fund has paid out $23,762.43, $9,836 of which was paid out last year thanks to an increase in contributions and btc value. We have traditionally held repayment funds in btc subject to fluctuation in value and thankfully this has worked out well. On our last "roll", we paid everyone on the list up to the maximum repayment of $100 and we still had some funds left over. The price of btc at the time was $13,000, today it is $33,000, maybe you can see where I'm going with this.

For the first time ever we are clearing the entire repayment list. There is no $100 maximum or any other condition that would limit someone's repayment. Everyone on the list will be paid the amount listed by their name. The total of this repayment is $4,791 and we will still have roughly $1600 left over. All users will be pmed shortly. This is a tremendous and unbelievable accomplishment. When the system was created there was never an expectation that the entire list would be cleared. It was really an inconceivable thought. I'm a little beside myself thinking what this means for us moving forward but it's a good problem to have for sure.
