But I digress. You reported this thread that I made https://www.sythe.org/threads/xerxescx-account-recovery/ twice... presumably angling for an infraction. That thread will stay open til another staff member looks over it and agrees it makes sense. I don't see how @'ing the accused user is inappropriate, hence the infraction.

 

Again your lack in customer service still shows as the issue at hand was your fuck off comment and nothing about all the dumb bullshit you just posted. I can only assume you live at home with your parents still as you lack some need intelligence to make it in the real world.

Edit: maybe the word I was looking for was your professionalism is massively lacking. And your easy to become defensive and aggressive under pressure or push back against what you believe rather then facts.

Double edit: you have this skin and take sides way to quickly without seeing the full picture.

Wasn't in favor at first when you got promoted and you said you'd never vote in favor of a future mod app of mine, however as days have gone by I've seen your work as staff now and I appreciate all you've done and how you've done it. You're doing really well. Keep it up.

Misuses DNT because I guess he doesn't understand it. Also rules in favor of his moderator friend for getting "scammed" $30-35 (and I use the word scammed very lightly here, he basically wanted some training done and because he paid for membership on the accounts, it is now somehow the other person's fault. I'm sure @Gladiator won't be using those 4 accounts for anything at all now for the entire month because that's essentially what he's saying and even if he wasn't it's still not the other guy's fault he used credit/debit to pay for membership instead of the numerous other more affordable methods or that he bought membership before evening signing a formal contract with said user.)

I didn't apply the DNT on Howjow2 in that report; that DNT was already in place when I began reviewing it. That said, I don't think whoever placed it did so incorrectly.

 

DNT was specifically created as a system and only to be applied in place of a permanent ban. What you're thinking of would be TWC. I know, it's hard keeping track of all these things since they're spread all over the place at this point and your moderator friends also make this mistake, but being a moderator of the site perhaps you should know that.

(edit) Oh and DNT already in place either means @Gladiator took it upon himself to mis-use DNT before the person was even judged by a staff member and incapable of seeing his bias, a staff member added it without even making a comment on the report, or it means he traded with a DNT user.

 

I can't recall a single case of us TWCing someone in the middle of an open scam report to protect the community while it gets resolved. DNT serves as a much more effective way of 1) getting users to deal with reports made against them before rejoining the market and 2) protecting other market users from a potential bad actor.

To your point about DNT being a perm ban replacement, that was its original intention. That is also how it is usually used. However, Richard also writes:

I genuinely don't know who placed the DNT in this case, but it also doesn't really matter. There's nothing that says staff cannot place a DNT on a user they're reporting. While the best practice is usually to let another staff member review and handle the report, there are exceptions to this rule (e.g. the guy who's been sending out phishing links this week, known serial scammers/evaders, users attempting to scamquit, and so on). There's similarly no requirement that says staff have to post on a thread before a DNT can be placed. DNTs are linked to threads (with or without a staff post on them), and often staff will place a DNT before a report can be posted on or resolved for the community-protection reasons mentioned above.

You quote and misinterpret one tiny part of the entire thread to move your goalposts and make it something completely different and because all your staff buddies are also doing it, it's somehow okay.

Did you read the part where it stated DNT is supposed to be more severe than TWC? It's meant to be for the protection of others in that the member is allowed to still participate, but to protect others, there's DNT. It's so they don't go ban evading just to post outside the market, and then become unlabeled "full" members. It's so they're encouraged to try to come back/streamline the pardon process. You guys are supposed to consider giving it to people with a temporary ban, in place of a permanent ban, not to give it before you permanently ban someone.

LITERALLY, the first sentence on https://www.sythe.org/threads/2438619/understanding-the-dnt-do-not-trade-rank/ is: The DNT system is an alternative to permanent bans on Sythe.org.

Oh my god you guys have definitely gone past the point of no return, your believe you are somehow making sense, that's the worst part of all, that you believe you are correct no matter what. You can take any set of words and interpret it as you wish to serve your own purpose.
