Every person that has been mod either gets hacked, gets hacked and scams, or scams?

Usually when they get hacked and scam, they will be let go.
When they get hacked they are let go.

Does anyone else see a pattern in this? I know mods are targeted because of the power they hold and stuff, but i don't see how they can get hacked. I think its common sense to make a good password and not click on any links, but hey, thats just me.

Sometimes it's more complicated then just clicking a link or what not, and sometimes it's people they trust that "hack" them, so it's somewhat understandable. But the mods do need to take better precautions to not get hacked. When they get hacked it effects Sythe, and we all know Sythe doesn't need any more problems.

Staff are the ones getting hacked USUALLY.

Normal members however don't get hacked? It's not hard, scan your files, make a hard pass, voila!

I've never been hacked - but, it doesn't seem that hard to be. There's malware, cracking, brute force, social engineering, etc. You figure with several dozen people who'd love to get your password at any given time, one may succeed every now and then.

If you've ever used the same password as your sythe account or email anywhere else, or accepted a file from anyone over MSN (regardless of how well you know them), you'd be vulnerable as well.

I think you cant really keep away from these things. Mostly because im betting most of the mods are already spammed and pushed around on msn until they crack and the password is found. You cant blame them that there are password hungry hackers.

More 'normal' Sythe members are hacked than Sythe mods, It's just that when a mod gets hacked, It's the latest news and spreads through Sythe quickly. People are like 'Z0MG wheres Giddy gone?!', but they're not like 'Z0MG that leecher with 9 posts has been hacked!?!'. Mods are targeted because of their power, It's not their fault.

Some people just don't take the necessary precautions, so they end up getting hacked. What I'm surprised with is how often these hackings occur, despite prevention methods being talked about amongst members as well as staff quite frequently.

You can blame them. Obviously if you cannot even keep your password safe, then how are you suppose to do anything on the internet? I have never been hacked, so it obviously cannot be too hard >.>

Why on earth would someone hack another person without reputation? Thats just idiocy. It is their fault they can't keep the password safe.

Thats what im surprised about, also.

Don't forget that staff are MUCH higher targets for this sort of thing rather than normal members. And really getting hacked nowadays is as easy as replying to an email..

I know a couple people that would like to have my account, because of my post count.

If you are getting hacked easily, then you are doing something wrong.

That is true. However, mods are seen as much greater targets. Trust me, I know.

There are so many ways to get hacked these days that it is almost impossible not to fall into a trap. It almost seems inevitable.

I didn't know we were talking about a certain person, so i wouldn't be able to tell you what he did wrong.

I know they are, but i don't see why almost every mod gets either hacked or they get hacked and scammed. If it were just a couple, i would understand.

    Read above.

The actual number of mods who are getting hacked is very low in comparison with the ones that do. The mods who have been hacked are a mere handful. But in saying that, one mod hacked is one mod too many.
