Sythe.org IRC v2.0 - Support?

Maybe you missed the part of this thread that was the poll

"Would you use the new Sythe.org IRC server? See below for details."

 

I vote yes. Ghosts is alright, but not too many new people join. Why not

I would have to say no if all sythe staff get powers. Abuse would happen... We've seen it in the past with staff having powers in #sythe. They still abuse if its something they don't like you are banned.

It was directed more to the userbase rather then the current Ghostsnet IRC minority, since it will be set up for the users not for the current ghostsnet people - considering most of them don't like Sythe anyway.

Ghosts has nothing to do with sythe.org that may be why.

It will be kept clean and free from abuse.

I voted yes because I can't see any harm in it. Ghosts can still be used by old IRC fags that hate the requirements for an official one. There's really nothing that can be lost.

EDIT: And yes, I probably would use it every now and then.

1. Some members who were banned ages ago won't be allowed to participate in this IRC.
2. Staff with access is ridiculous, good luck with 20 mods not even knowing what "chanserv" is.

You are right, Verts is NOT part of the sythe.org userbase and her opinion does not count. My bad.

I don't care $100/year will either get you shit hosting that gets DDOSed all the time because of the datacenter it's in, or not enough processes. I don't really care if you take my advice

New IRC will be lame as fuck, pandering to idiots who can't defend themselves. People who got "abused" on the old IRC were utter morons who usually provoked such attacks.

I predict this new server will be boring and ANNOYING, just like SwiftIRC

also, the people on the original IRC were giving OP permissions because they knew what they were doing (generally, there are obvious exceptions to this)

 

Sythe has simply said that staff should have access in #sythe.

I plan to give halfop to all staff (and admins get op).
