Can you explain how this is a scam attempt? Promoting a sale by saying "hey this thing is worth more than I'm asking for it!" is probably the most common strategy for selling things.

 

Okay so the argument here is that the moderately valuable RSN is no longer associated with the account @X Skilled X was trying to sell. Wanna explain yourself @X Skilled X?

 

Yes gladly. So I was offering him accounts to sell. And as shown in all the other photos of other accounts I’ve offered him at the same time, I either blocked the username or cropped it out or did something to block usernames from all the images. Because I knew that the username was changed and I wanted him to check out the accounts for their levels and achievements etc, and not for the username. I just so happened to forget that I didn’t block the username on this one particular photo and didn’t notice it until after he asked me to meet in game to show proof of ownership. Which, if I was trying to scam, would be a pretty dumb thing to do if I intended on misleading him on the username. So I went to show him in game that the account was in fact mine. And he met me in game and instantly without explanation or asking me why the name was different, he instantly said something like “different username than “Whack”. You will be marked as a scammer and a scam report will be filed on sythe.” This was said over a ticket in his discord shop and he closed the ticket shortly after. So I can’t get to this to show photo proof. So I asked him to show me where I ever said the accounts name was Whack, still unknowing that I forgot to block the username on that one photo at this time. And after he showed me I tried to explain that he was jumping to conclusions and that I simply forgot to block the name when I sent the photo. I may have used some insults because his response calling me a scammer was pretty annoying seeing as he didn’t even give me a chance to explain. But beyond a couple insults, I had no I’ll intentions here. Also, if I was trying to scam someone by faking a username, what would be the point in offering the other 2 accounts I showed him where I had blocked the usernames.

Honestly I’m really surprised that this guy wasted his time and the staffs time by filing this report. I feel like this is an obvious mistake that could’ve happened to anyone and had he just given me 2 seconds to explain myself before instantly accusing me, this whole report could’ve been avoided.

Here’s the original message I first sent him. Offering the account, not mentioning what the username is anywhere. Because I knew it wasn’t “whack” Anymore and therefore worthless.

And in regards to him pointing out where I said literally nothings changed since taking the photos, I was referring to the levels and items. Because as I said, I did not intend for him to have ever seen the username in any of the photos.
