Mistake's

1. Bringing cash.
2. Meeting at a open area with little amounts of people
3. Bringing only you and your dad
4. Not having a written agreement already planned, or some sort of proof saying who he is, also had proof that you could prove who he is and find him.. dur?

Meeting someone from the internet in real life is just as dangerous as meeting anyone else in real life. Just play it smart and take safety precautions.

No it was a guy from craigslist, but similar trading occurs on sythe so i thought i'd post this as a warning

 

You should always meet strangers in a public place where they can't attempt to harm you.

 

You should get his username on Craigslist and see what you guys can do. if it's true, that's really embarrassing/frustrating. But, hopefully you can get some reparations. I wouldn't ever meet someone in public to complete a trade, that is if I ever do trade.

 

Yep, although Leet Range suggested you use a cashiers check. Banks will often cash these fake checks, and then hold you responsible in a few weeks. Sometimes they'll even press criminal charges.

 

That is what you get for bringing 5000 dollars with you with someone knowing about it. And I have met IRL, when I went to visit family in El Salvador (central america), I met Xhamolk, and we hung out for a bit (Global mod for rsbot)
