[Approved] Make A New Channel For Spam Forums On Discord.

I believe there should be a separate #spamforums channel on the discord server instead of #sythe. The Sythe channel should be for actual conversations, and if people want to enter the spam forums they should click on it; because, a lot of people might not know what that channel is for. There are also many other reasons why this change should be made, but I guess it's for admins and mods to vote on that.

edit: I suggest leaving the #Sythe Channel and making a #SpamForums Channel with the same rules as the current "#Sythe" Channel which has a terrible perception of what the discord should actually be for... If people choose to participate in there then they can, other then that the #Sythe Channel should follow rules of all the parts of forums except donor lounge and spam forums. Because I believe we have some half-decent rules incorporated that could be effective in "#Sythe"

Edit: Another big problem with #Sythe... you can never tell when someone is being serious or joking or trolling.

Edit: #Sythe should be "General chat" and #Spamforums should be the current #SYTHE channel... Idk all this safe space talk etc etc. Don't join spam forums if you are going to get offended or can't take the heat.

 

I support, I always thought to have main the channel as spam forums were just bad reflection on sythe as a whole,
last time they did this they put the channel at the bottom which is why it failed, but the channel right under the sythe one

Given recent events I feel like the Discord would benefit from the addition of some sort of friendly discussion channel with more restrictions.

The current structure of the spam forum certainly isn't for everyone and I doubt the addition of a channel like this would split activity too much since they'd cater to different parts of the userbase.

Light trolling is currently permitted, but there are no clear rules on what is considered light trolling. I too enjoy the light trolling from time to time, but I think it harms this site in the long run. THere have been a lot of examples recently that lead to my decision.

For example, a new guy joined the Discord to ask about buying an account. Instead of being helped, he gets called a nigger by 5 people ( had a photo of himself in his Discord profile picture ). The user left right after and decided to look for another website instead.

A while back where @Izad was called various things without any proof, and was harrassed for months, is also a great example. I believe it's just a small group of people that enjoy the spam forum rules in the Discord. Make a new channel called #spamforum or #spam would be a good solution.

I'm yet to see a clearly structured suggestion. For all I now each of you supporting this suggestion could have a different perception of what is being suggested.
"Something can/should be done" is too vague. If you have X on your mind and we implement Y, you may not like it, so be as clear as possible.

Your (general) definition of harassment has significantly shifted in the last few years. Staff members often receive PMs from people complaining that someone called them a name.
Do you suggest that calling someone retard, pussy, etc. should be prohibited?
What's your definition of being toxic? If you want to push for more restrictions you better be clear.

OP what is a spam to you? You tagged me 5 times the other day to tell me that I'm a bitch.
OP you are constantly spamming the channel to the point where many people have muted/blocked you.
Are you aware of that?

If we implement a new non SF general discussion channel will mindless Bertlike spam be considered an actual spam and people will be punished, or is it a safe space that you are looking for and don't mind the spam? Please be clear, as it's not clear to me.

 

Read the post again and use your brain cells sir and maybe it will be more clear to you instead of being a power hungry global moderator. Other people besides you and desireX seem to understand the post pretty clearly.

 

Please specify "forum rule oriented channel".
Do you mean that the discussion, or posts should add some value? Can they be offensive? What is offensive?
Some people want safe space, do we treat this channel with 0 tolerance Personal Support rules?

Right now we are somewhere in the middle. People were punished for excessively trolling sythe user for a prolonged period of time. Will I be able to excessively troll sythe user for a prolonged period of time in the newly formed spam channel?
