casual racism - yall should be embarrassed

I want this thread taken seriously.

I'm talking from the top, down. this includes any staff members or anyone involved in the CDT who frequent the sythe discord and are OKAY with, and JOKE with users negatively throwing around the word nigger, monkey jokes, nigger word chains, ridiculing BLM, etc.

I've been blasted on discord for reporting a user who continuously flamed me by calling me a nigger and making racial jokes at my expense. I have thick skin, and always have brushed it off, until it was directed at me. I spoke up, and received backlash for doing so. The mere idea of standing up against bullshit like this for my race who have long suffered, was not taken seriously. Yall think there is no harm in making racial jokes, but most of yall have NEVER been in my shoes. I was tormented for having a different skin when i was younger. Teased for it, bullied for it, mugged for it, fought for it, and more. yall will NEVER understand the obstacles and enemies i've had to face in my life because my skin is different, because my skin is not white. there's a reason the BLM movement exploded, because my people have always been put down and have never been equal to our peers, to this day.

@Sythe : It's time for some reform. Is this really how you want to grow and develop the forum? Is this really the forums' representatives' idea to attract new users? What kind of message does it send when the only person standing up for this shit is laughed at and ridiculed for doing so? This shit going on makes this forum look damn unprofessional.

Yall are community leaders, so act like it. yalls behavior is disgusting, and for two people representing sythe as a whole, you both need to conduct yourselves appropriately.

Call me a crybaby, call me soft, call me a lil bitch, tell me that its just the internet and i shouldn't take it so seriously, say whatever you want. At the end of the day, this is a serious matter and casual racism is embedded into this site, thanks in part to those higher up who have never acted on it. this shit wasn't happening when i first joined sythe, but the lack of any recourse has led to the appropriation of racism over the years with disgusting, normalized behaviour. This is real fucking life, it's 2020, so to see this shit so casually thrown around is disappointing.

You shouldn't engage in spam forum(discord) activities if you can't handle trolling/flaming. It's a place where people gather to let their inner retards out and no one is forced to be there. The majority of discussions going on there are offensive to someone, and i wouldn't want it killed off completely by social justice warriors

In my daily life I do not condone or normalize this behaviour, before getting extremely offended and upset you should look at the setting you are in. I also mentioned a setting where someone said “it” randomly while hanging out with friends and it made us all uncomfortable. Is that the reaction of closet racism?

I don’t think anyone who says it in that context is racist but I understand that nobody is serious in that context and what you are saying is your opinion and not actual fact.

If what anyone says or does makes you upset over discord you can simply block them and install a plugin or type in some code that hides blocked messages.

stop trying to defend yourself. you are an extension of sythe no matter where you post. this behaviour is NORMALIZED by people like you under the caveat that, "its just the spam forum", or even "well i don't condone that in REAL LIFE im just a closet racist".

@Dom I suggest you read the second paragraph I posted. I give an example that I’m not a closet racist so please stop accusing me of such as I have never said anything racist to you in any setting.

 

I think everyone should get a set amount of passes per month and then you can buy more by donating to Sythe. What do you think @Sythe ?
