Allow DNT Users to change avatar

I don't entirely understand why a DNT user is not allowed to change their avatar. According to this thread, a DNT is as follows:

Nowhere in this does it mention being unable to change avatars, nor do I see a reason why that's not allowed. Or rather, any logical reason. The only thing I could possibly even consider to be a reason is to maybe keep a user as they are when they got DNT'd and not appear as different, if that makes sense? Changing my avatar does nothing different regarding my DNT. I understand ranks and miniranks, but an Avatar is a bit weird. Could we change that? I don't get why it's a thing.

 

No support. DNT users shouldn't be allowed to have a signature as well.

There should be minimal functionality, basically just the ability to post, nothing more.

Integration back into the community is key to have victims repaid.

 

The point of a DNT is to not give people who are DNT'd access to anything market related. By restricting that, a large part of why we're on Sythe in the first place is removed, and gives us only the bare bones. Avatars and signatures don't give us access to either, so being unable to change them sees weird (in my personal opinion.) Like, I can't even remove my vouch thread from my signature, where I won't be able to do anything with it for three months lol. It just doesn't make sense for it to be that way.

Dnt is there for a reason, and being able to change the whole profile seems meaningless and not presured to pardon the right way

Becoming a DNT for negative reasons should just keep users from coming on the site at all. For example, ex-scammers.

Voluntary DNT’s however should get access to these previously mentioned rights. However, I do believe they should have a different title. Even VDNT would be better.

 

I get the whole point of DNT - I really do. However, I just seriously fail to see how changing our avatar and signature follows under the point of a DNT. We're not trading or anything, just changing one picture (or a few if you're using your signature.) If I can't edit my signature, I'd like it if my vouch page was removed in that case, as it seems pointless to have it there. You know?

I just genuinely don't get that as an argument at all. Our name is there, we still have the rank. How does the ability to change our avatar give us access to the site as a whole? At that rate, you might as well remove the option to donate and everything, as well (assuming it isn't) if we're only supposed to get the bare bones of the site.

 

That is the point of a DNT. Complete market restriction, with solely the functionality to post, and participate to that extent within the community - anything additional defeats the purpose of a DNT.

Avatars and signatures can be seen as an advertising tool, which may generate revenue for some. Albeit, this is not the norm, my point still stands that additional (normal perks for regular users) perks should only be made available upon ones DNT being removed. DNT is meant to be a punishment, not a lesser forum access account.

It does make sense. You aren't entitled to any perks. In this case, signatures should be disabled altogether.

I get the market restriction 100%. That's not the problem. If we're unable to change it, then, in my opinion, I feel it should be taken away entirely. As in, my signature removed and my avatar taken down. I get your point entirely, though. I wasn't meaning to sound like I deserve my avatar changing privileges or anything, and I do apologize if it came across as such a way. If anything, it should at least be stated in this thread that you lose that, should you get DNT.

 

No support, changing something about your profile while DNT is a red flag for me. I was DNT'ed at a point and I don't think that I deserved to view markets or be a larger part of sythe. Just pardon and gain your rights again
