Vouches do means something. If you don't want to get scammed in the future I suggest making sure the vouches are real and not given by people under 20 posts, and find/use someone with more the two vouches. In the future it's up to you not to get scammed and not rely so heavily on just two vouches.

    Gl with other trades.^_^

Vouches do count for something. If we didn't have a vouch system then we would have no way of knowing at all whether the user in question is trustworthy at all.Sure, some people fake their vouches but a majority of people don't.If you don't wanna get scammed then make sure you use an OMM or just be incredibly careful. If you think a deal is fishy that walk away.

How to look if vouches are real.
First, do not consider vouches from training etc (specially if the account that had been trained isn't worth that much, low lvls).
Second, take your time to check the time and date (like after how many minutes have the trade been done).
Third, look at who gave the vouches (how long have been in sythe, does have a bad record, a lot said they scammed but without proofs, something like that, how active are they, also, take time to view all their post, what did they post etc).
Fourth, go take time to look how big the deal is. What did they traded, what are they vouching for (in example, I am here in sythe to buy rs2 pins and also offering my mming service).
If you are that patient, they maybe you can find someone you can go first, someone that is trustworthy and legit.

Pin, free names, training a noob account, mean nothing, stick to vouches that mean stuff, and lets say in all his vouches he went first or used a MM, they mean nothing then too.

Honestly, I feel the problem is lack of responsibility in the staff. Most of them are 14 or younger, not that age is any indication of responsibility, but as older people would have more work experience, they would know the importance of doing a good job.

It seems as if the moderators just try to find people spamming, I'm thinking this is because they want to give their self the feeling that they are helping, when really, they are giving people infractions for posting things they dub as "useless" when really they are usually just trying to help out other players with their SLIGHTLY unrelated posts. These are easy infractions for them to give, where as finding scammers might take a couple minutes of work, taking the easier actions and banning these so called "spammers" will make them appear like they are more active moderators, and an important part of the community, they are stopping the horrible people (who post something that they dub unrelated). I'm not defending flooders, and people who post about 20 times to bump their threads, they do deserve infractions, it's just they ban people too much for things that aren't hurting anyone, and hardly ban any of the people who are actually hurting the community.

It's saddening seeing how most people have been scammed more times than they have done regular, fair trades. I like to believe that a good percent of people are actually honest traders, shouldn't they weed out the bad apples of the bunch?

Those are just my opinions though, maybe they do do more work that I don't see. Anyway, I'm likely going to get banned for spamming from this post, so see you all later.

Also: More on topic, Vouches aren't always trust, usually if a vouch is from a staff member, for free training/names, or not from somebody who went 2nd, I disregard it, and even if they do have a good amount of legitimate vouches, there's always a risk, trade smart. You'll get better at knowing when somebody is a scammer with time, in my signature it says Bad Trades: 2, Good Trades: 8, I think I'm missing a bad trade, but the 3 times I was scammed were my 3 very first times trading, I started filtering out who I trade and only trading people I was sure wouldn't scam me, and got 8 good trades in a row.

Vouches only mean what you let them mean, and you need to check what the vouches are for as well, if you got scammed it's your own fault for not being careful and paying attention. Learn from your mistakes.
