[Denied] Give ex-OMMs a funrank instead of a minirank

This seems extremely fair.

 

I've never been an OMM but in my time was always viewed as a sign of very trustworthy (that and Global and higher). I'd say if someone went through the time and effort to earn the rank they should retain an "Ex-OMM" of a kind. However they must ensure 2FA is enabled on their account along with other general security precautions (otherwise they lose it).

Demoted ex-staff don't tend to retain the rank, so if that happened then they just don't get it. It is possible to cause a minor enough offence but not enough to get a ban for it.

My demotion and bans were for completely separate reasons, don't try and bring them under one banner please.

It should definitely not be this one. The wording here is misleading, and still implies some relative official status.

It should be one of the fun ranks that have no connotation. I.e, Crabby, Pirate, etc.

 

I find it funny how a person gets promoted to mod does it for about 4 months, quits and get a fun rank
example: Pikachu (ABM) was promoted here New Admin and Sectional Mods! Dec 31, 2019 then around May 2020 he quit and gets a fun rank while the OMM's have been OMM's for many years and it was very hard to achieve and we get a little minirank that just doesn't sit right with me and im sure it doesn't sit right with the other OMM's its a big spit in our faces.

 

They do unpaid work moderating the forums and help manage the shit show that is RAS and help users learn how to operate the site. Please don't compare being a staff member to OMM, the impact on the site is astronomically different.

 

Im not comparing being a OMM to being a staff member, Im saying he got a fun rank for just being a mod for 4 months. While us MM worked very hard to get OMM which took us years to get and we put many years of service being OMM's and we only get a little minirank, Nah that's not right.

 

Give me an example of any OMM who charged any fees before becoming an OMM - Since 2012 I didn't see even single one.

The rank became useless mostly because people with immense trust and active roles on Sythe were getting rejected,
Take the fucking mudkip funrank you probably don't deserve and move on.

The point i'm making is not that charging fees is wrong. It just means you got paid for your time. What is a "retired" OMM rank supposed to do for you? It would basically represent the same value of trust and only be used to benefit the users who gatekeeped one of the most prestigious ranks on the site for their own material gain, from MANY trusted MM's who are more active.

The OMM rank as it was, had no benefit to the site in the time i've used it. It was just a trophy used to boost revenue and was rightfully removed.

 

It's inpossible to make serious amount of money by MMing, even working as livechat agent is more profitable so don't say someone got paid because it was slavework. On first or 2nd page I agreed retired OMM rank is useless, other users offered different, better solutions.

 

The OMM rank's revenue im talking about is NOT about mm'ing fees. Its from using that trust to charge extra on other products (Example is Azie's accounts) and people would be the higher priced option from equally trusted people because of a funrank.

Exactly the rank didn't directly benefit the site as much as it directly benefited the OMM's.

You all got paid for your 1-2 year free MM grind with the boosted prices. It is comparable to an internship, it pays off in the end.

I disagree, there were OMMs that didn't even have their own stores, eg n4n0.

 

I don't get it, do you think moderators don't use their status to boost revenue ie what you are complaining about the OMMs?

I think we can all agree its pretty obvious what your priorities were, infact almost all the OMM's around you had the same idea...

Do the least amount of mming "work" while still reaping the rewards of the added trust of the OMM role.

Now my last question is :
why would you be fighting so hard for a funrank if you didn't think it accomplished the same objective as your cult-like club that just got removed?

 

Staff help the site a lot more than omm. That's the point i'm trying to make. People are thinking about themselves and how useful it was for them. Not about how useful the role was to the site.

I've only been on the site for a year and a half give or take but for the role to have no users added or no impact to the site overall but stir shit and get meme'd on by active sythe users. Why should the site be forced to recognize them and not other trusted mms?
