chances of ban for 800m?

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to buy around 800m OSRS gp from a site which I have used previously in January to purchase 300m.

They state that they only source their gold from legitimate places such as players that are quitting and stakers etc... none of it comes from botting. They also state they use level 80 accounts to trade so that that it's not a fresh account. I'd be using a 2k+ total level account (my main) to trade on.

Is there a big risk with buying that amount? I assume there is even more RWT traffic at the moment due to the virus and I have no doubt people push around much larger amounts than 800m etc...

Just wondered if there has been an increase in bans recently or if it might be safer to buy from somewhere else rather than a site?

You will most likely be okay. They mainly go after the sellers and not so much the buyers. Even though that has started to change and I have seen a few banned for buying. To lower the risk buy from smaller sellers on Sythe but use a trusted MM etc.

 

You should be ok, but if I were you, i'd look to buy off smaller vendors whilst remaining safe by using a trusted middleman.

Make sure to remain safe by reading all the stickies and always always get a confirmation PM.

 

Thanks, I guess that's a better way to do it. Although I've only ever paid by card and paypal so assume most people on here will take crypto etc...? I suppose I'll read up on how the trades work and using a middle man etc...

You’ll be fine, if you want to be extra careful just ask for stake transfers

 

With a high level account you should be ok, but you never know really. Amounts above 500m gets kinda risky.

 

Do it in portions it's better to be safe than sorry

 

I got banned on a 124cmb account for selling less than 1B. On the same token, I've moved several bills on the same level 80 account.

 

When you got banned on the level 124 CB account, who did you sell the gold to?

 

It was a large website operation. They are sythe users. I don't want to start drama so I am not going to disclose their name. All I will say is that they are a (China) business and conducted trades from levels three accounts.

To best protect yourself:

1) Sell to someone who is in a country like the USA, AUS, EU, etc. No third world or Asian countries.
2) Ask them if they trade from level three accounts. If they do, keep moving.
3) Ask if they will meet you in P2P. If they won't, keep moving or offer to buy them a bond. It's a small price to protect your account.

 

Yeah definitely do it on a p2p world then.. thats crazy. I sold 4b the other day on a level 80 account on p2p

I would definitely try a smaller vendor. HMU if you need some gold dude! typically as long as you get it all from multiple accounts or keep it under 1b it doesn't really raise any red flags. 10b+ moving around quickly throws red flags.

You'll be fine, just ask the seller to use a higher levelled account or duel stake method as its a high amount they should have no issue doing this.

 

If you browse the forum this is a very common question. You'll be fine. The odds on you getting banned are very low! I wouldn't worry, Do it on P2P. Stake it if your really worried.
