Jagex was bought

So jagex was just bought out this morning. With this new company what do you think they will bring to the table? Will they ruin the game with micro transactions? Or will the try and keep the same old RS and try and grow the player base that way. Let me know what you think.

Another Chinese company... another day. Hard to say what this will mean, but could be lootboxes/clickbait ads etc coming to OSRS.

 

I have a feeling its going to turn out really bad

 

we really won’t know until the time comes. It would just be nice to be bought out by a company that is willing to work with the community at the beginning. Once the owners stop listening to us the game will die. Fast.... but like you said. It’s a waiting game from here on out.

 

Yeah I'm sure the exec's understand the game & how autistic we all are about ads/micro transactions etc. OSRS will hopefully be predominantly a subscriber based business model until it dies.

Inflating the price to 550m on something worth 200-300m at the most?

 

yeah I was surprised when I saw the price they bought it from. It’s kind of crazy to think your child hood game you fell in love with is now worth over a half a billon dollars.

 

hope for the best and they listen to the community and have better servers tbh and focus on pvp abit

 

I think it will mean good, Plat fortune is in the gaming market, Fukong was in the mining market. Completely different subsets. One wants the game to succeed the other wants money only.

Lol rs3 just makes me laugh every time someone mentions it. Let’s see what happens but hopefully osrs doesn’t change at all.

Im pretty sure every major western RWT website will shutdown and be replaced by chinese RWT websites if not jagex themselves selling gold
