I need help with my laziness.

I am really struggling staying focused in school. When I get home I put things off and then when the end of the week comes I have a ton of school to do.

I also struggle with laziness and here is an example. I have 20 problems in calculus to do and they are big. I feel overwhelmed by them and drag the time out. When the end of the day comes I only have a couple done.


I need help and I want to know how I can overcome this. I really want to change this but I don’t know how. Please don’t say “just do it”. I need tips and suggestions on how you do your work.


Please be serious.

 

You can't really fix laziness. It's hereditary.

If you lack drive, you lack drive. You can't do anything to make you more driven unless you have some kind of motivation. The level of motivation varies from person to person. For some, getting good grades is good enough motivation. For others, it's the way other people see you.

Just get yourself motivated in some way.

divide half your net time into school time its for your own good

or mabye its a disorder and they have pills for it ahaha

do homework while checking on bots etc do 1 question surf 5 mins do another ( espically if on ythe net alot

 

Try and find motivation, this will drive you to concentrate in school and get your work done.

 

Talk to your mom or dad and tell them about this and tell them to motivate you are remind you or bug you about doing your homework.

 

Shut off anything that causes a distraction. Its the best to go to the library to study. You can also listen to some of your favourite music while doing homework and studying.

lol, my mate who has ADHD gave me some for my exams and I ACED them haha, it gave me extreme focus powers.

Do you get distracted? or just cannot be bothered, like just lie on the couch?

 

how i deal with my laziness becouse you sound just like me is know my prioritys. idk about you but im in the 12th grade and had this problem all my life. i finally realized around the 10th grade i need to get my act togather becouse i want to go to collage. and if you have the urge to play games like runescape, do something simple like mine pure ess or even bot while you do some problems, and remember you can always come here for help.

 

Fear drives me to complete shit. Like if I don't do my schoolwork and get a low GPA, I lose my scholarship and my parents will kill me. That almost happened last semester so I am working really hard this semester to do better. But yeah just become scared of doing bad and it will be easier for you to do good.

 

I will try dividing time and see how that works.

 

I have the exact same problem, I have such low motivation levels for collge.

What helps me is that I aim to do little junks of my college work, then reward myself by taking a 5-10 minute break doing w/e, this way i work towards these rewards and it makes the work stressful.

However, if i have to complete a large task i turn everything off, no TV, no MSN, no music etc and also fear drives me to do my work in terms of getting bad grades and becoming a tramp scares me :O

-Find something to motivate you, something to make what you're doing fun and interesting
-If you just go watch TV or use your computer, unlplug them and give a cord or two to your parents and tell them to keep them until your work is done
-Exercise, build up energy to focus
-Take a truckload of speed pills

Dude I have the same exact problem. Try as hard as I might, I just don't give a crap about some stuff enough to be motivated to do them. I just sit down to do homework and end up playing ds or something.

But one thing I noticed is when I am around different people. For instance, I always hate waking up. But when I was on a field trip to DC once my friend woke me and I woke up right there and then. I think it's because you just get so annoyed with people you live with that you don't feel like doing shit they ask you to.

 

i use to be lazy still am but not as much because my mom checks my home work and shit like that so annoying so i do it just to get her off my back

When I'm at home I'm too lazy to get up in the morning. When I'm wit other people, I wake up easily. It's kinda like a motivation for me cuz i know I'm gonna have fun, unlike when my parents wake me up and I know I'm just gonna have another drag of a day.

 

Chant is on the right track, try and find some friends that are serious about school and try to do homework together.

 

You have to overcome your laziness, thats all I can say.
If you can't even do that, then your unlikely to succed in anything, in life.
Its a matter of "Mind Over Matter." In your case, "Mind Over Thought".
