False advertisment

So I was browsing looking for some gold to level up accounts and came across @PartyPeteShop which had reasonable prices at .75 p/m upon looking at checkout it says for 100m over 85$?? all options were not priced at .75 even btc was way more expensive which surely has no tax or anything. The way their checkout layout is made is extremely putting 75$ at the top and in small letters 88... Just seems very misleading.

whoever reviews this feel free to go on their website OSRS Gold | Buy OSRS GP, Old School Runescape Gold and check it out yourself, I dont believe they are the only ones doing this. Months ago i was on some website and the live agent even said they lie about the prices (i cant remember what site however bc i obviously didnt buy).

 

sorry if not meant to comment but i had a similar report also on partypeteshop afaik 2 years back on false advertisement for writing 'beating all rates' + 'best prices', and he refused to beat rates + didnt have the best prices, and got my report deleted because they justified it with 'Its a marketing technique and not false advertisement' (along those lines).

so what im coming to is if this is indeed against the rules, its not his first time doing it so should be taken into consideration of the decision, its an old post just cant link it cause was deleted for some reason. Just felt the need to comment as per the fact that my post was deleted so no reference to link back to; if it was still up there i wouldn't comment. Sorry in advance if i'm breaking a rule commenting here, but i feel my post is relevant to the case

(Sorry if I'm not meant to comment but this is just another FYI to the Mods) Regarding what you just said, I made a thread regarding false marketing claims in lines of what this you were talking about and the moderator response to making claims and not honoring it should be reported and be dealt with one a one by one basis. If what you said was true and that it was "a marketing technique" instead of something "reportable", I feel like Moderators need to make a firmer stance on the topic. ([denied] Tone Down Marketing Claims). Nobody wants to make these types of reports since it feels like you're singling someone out; however, many people are also doing it and nobody is getting punished, especially since many of these threads are made by reputable traders in a close-knit community.

So hoping a Mod can address this in the report outcome.

 

I agree that this is deceptive, but PP isn't advertising his rates on Sythe. He isn't claiming to be doing anything other than what he is actually doing. He also has this in his terms of service, which is sort of a catch-all for saying "hey btw I'm gonna mark everything up by 15% at the last second and you've gotta deal with it," so I think, in this case, this doesn't constitute false advertising.

I do agree with you though that advertising seems to have gotten out of hand lately. Please keep making these threads if you feel people are bending the rules. @Karna @sinkovsky @Amy
