    How to protect your privacy?

I decided that this issue is very important at the moment. The Zoom situation is enough. So I thought about creating a topic where you can leave your tips on how to protect yourself online.

When we start using an app or website, the only thing we can hope for is that the creators will not be able to delete our personal data. So I can only recommend not poking at all the links and using a paid VPN like Mac VPN.

If you want to protect yourself and your data when launching zoom, Its recommended to use a virtual machine to run zoom. Over it instead of exposing your host machine to vulnerabilities that the zoom application has, they have also been associated, with bad privacy practice and many other things. A quick search on zoom can give you an insight on YouTube and google with what's going on with them and what people are saying.

Utilizing a VPN is big nowadays. Also a good antivirus software. ANYTHING, can give you a virus these days.

It is possible to use proxy or VPN, but proxy is more expensive, and there are many good VPN services. Some of them are availbale for free, but I prefer using paid ones.

    How to protect your privacy?

Use vpn, vps, proxies, never link your personal stuff, dont use same pass on multiple platforms, dont use shitty pass, set 2fa, use firefox/brave/other browsers and set to autoclear all, don't follow shady links, don't get catfished, don't trust anyone on the internet...

For casual use this should be enough.

In addition to what everyone said, a rather common and overlooked issue is posting private information on open forums. You never know what might surface in 5 years from now.

I've seen this come back to bite people. Also for the conspiracy theorists, there's technology that can scan anonymous profiles for text patterns to predict the individual behind the VPN.

    How to protect your privacy?

Whatsup with Zoom? I got some random people DMing me with offers, requesting for a Zoom meeting. Is there something I should be aware of?

The DMs were on Instagram. They have like 1M+ followers, so I am convinced it could be legit. Mind shedding some light on something you may know, that I don't?

The Zoom thing was like a raid scenario. Somehow individuals would get zoom meeting access to private meetings and ruin them in some sort of way. I’m not sure of what you’re specifically talking about is related in anyways but always be sure to be safe online. Don’t fall for any scams no matter how real they may seem.

A decent VPN like everyone else said, Also if you download a file that looks sketchy make sure to check that it does not have any viruses in it before opening it. And if you decide not to use a VPN, then make sure not to fall for IP grabbers.

    How to protect your privacy?

The first thing you can use is antivirus to protect your PC and your smartphone from viruses, malware, and spyware. Speaking about spyware, it is good to check your smartphone and other devices for possible spy apps installed. I have read a lot about how it can be easy to read someone’s text messages without installing software and how to track the location of your device. This is a very serious violation of privacy and hassle-free retrieval of your data. Also, you can use VPN to protect you from online bots that can inspect your IP location and receive your data.
