    Well in factual terms, temperature clearly drives natural CO2 levels, not the converse.

    As for the greenhouse effect of CO2 itself, we know that infrared absorption by CO2 is a logarithmic function of the quantity of CO2. So a large increase in CO2 does not necessarily mean considerable warming. The CO2 volume in the atmosphere would have to double many times for any real temperature difference to occur.

    Further, most of these models and predictions fail entirely to take into account the very real negative feedback mechanisms at work in both the climatic atmosphere and on the ground in terms of life.

    The atmosphere is not a toy you simply break. Its a natural system which will return to equilibrium as fast it can.

    But getting back to the empirical data. CO2 has been very high for the past 50 years and yet no significant warming has occurred. The empirical data simply does not fit the model.

    No i really do think you don't under stand that we do have to do something about this problem. You can't just sit their and say Global warming is caused by misplace thermometers. Even if it was should you do some "good" once and a little while? (talking to everybody) It doesn't mean you have to be some SUPER tree huger, by small simple changes like; Don't use bottle watter, use a container, carpool friends that live by you, *ride you bike to the gym instead of driving* buy local food.

    Tap water is much worse for you than bottled water. Buy in glass bottles if you are concerned about plastics.

    There is no reason to cut down on driving.

    Buying local food is a great idea and I encourage everyone who has access to farmers markets to buy local non-gmo food. Support your local industry and avoid all the trash in the processed foods.

    CO2 is only part of the problem. Climate change is being caused by so many different things. Ocean circulation, volcanic eruptions, solar variations, orbital variations are just a few of the other contributers to the problem.

    If you look farther into the problem of climate change you'll realize that more than half of what is causing it is out of our control.

    We are partly the cause because we are/were releasing dangerous toxins (CO2 for example) into our environment without knowing that the climate didn't like that very much.

    Of course we have reduced our releases of CO2 and other toxins.

    And I did sort of miss-understand the whole point about this thread, sorry.
