Likelihood of Being Banned Buying Small Amounts of Gold?

Hey all, so I've been buying gold on OSRS as of late. However, I don't buy gold every day (maybe once a week) and I only buy in increments of 50M outside of Jagex operating hours. Any inputs regarding the likelihood of this catching up to me one day (getting banned)? Would you rather suggest buying higher amounts in lesser frequency? Should I also use VPNs or staking to reduce my chances?

Honestly, I've not been that cautious when it comes to buying and selling gold over the years, and it's never caught up to me. Multiple accounts and volumes ranging from 10m - 2b! Maybe I'm just lucky?

 

Bro... I have bought more gold in the past 15 years than I would care to admit. Checked my account history on gold sites recently and I could have bought a dream car. Bought around 6b in the past year, no ban. Last time I was banned for RWT was over a decade ago. All my trades are 200m - 1b. *Going to knock on wood now.*
Not only that, I dont personally know anyone that has been rwt banned since 07 and they all buy / sell stacks. With that being said, people on here have been banned for it so dont go toooooo crazy.

I’ve personally been banned for RWT less than 1B.. twice.

 

I've been banned numerous times for buying and selling. Some accounts were 10+ years old and 1800+ total level so not some level 3. I've also got a staker that I've bought 20B+ on and sold 40B+ on in the last 2 months. Not currently banned.

 

It's mostly pattern based. The bigger gold farms / gold resellers won't disclose their process but I'd imagine it involves varying levels of gold traded between mules, multiple account levels, junk trades, fake chats, random interactions... really anything that can be a false-positive for any pattern detection.

Likelihood: improbable but not impossible. Just don't make a massive 1b trade on a newer, lower level account, and don't pattern resell (RWT locations, bot spots, etc..) so you don't get flagged.

 

Like many have said, its mostly the sellers not the buyers that get hit with the RWT ban.

 

In those accounts that got banned, what exactly happened? Who did you trade gold with, what world (P2P/F2P) did you trade on, and where did the trade occur?

 

So what about buying items instead? would that be the same ban rate as buying gold? Couldn't you create a false positive that it was a giveaway?

 

I buy/sell around 300M per trade sometimes more than once per day haven't had any trouble in over 2 years so personally id say slim

I've bought 100m before and going to buy 250m in a week, not too worried I hear it's a pretty low ban rate.
