Pixel Art [MS Paint]

This was my first attempt at pixel art, after looking at the post about Pixel Art in GFX Help Section.



Tell me what you guys think for a first attempt.

NEVER USE JPEG! SAVE IN PNG AS IT SAVES 100% QUALITY AND ALLOWS ALPHA CHANNELS.

Yeah, pretty much agree with the other posts. It also seems a bit empty, perhaps attempt to make the characters larger?

But i have to say, better than my first pixel GJ.

For a first pixel attempt it's damn good.
I for one know how much skill you need to be pro in MS Paint.

alpha channels in a nutshell is for each pixel to have a set transparency, ranging from 0%-100%. Only a few file types support this. This compares to regular transparency is that in regular transparency, each pixel either has to have 0% OR %100 transparency. This explains why there are some white outlines on a lot of amateur computer artists work.

png fully supports alpha transparency, gif only supports regular. jpeg dosent support at all and will fill your transparent pixels with white. (examples)

Also, you cant do alpha transparency in paint. Only professional image editing programs, such as photoshop.

pretty good for first ever..i cant do pixel art for crap so i wuldnt really know on a scale of 1-10 how hard that is but looks prettty good

Good for a first attempt, but work on shadowing. The ground, and sky could be different shades, that would help a lot, and just remember to shadow everything. Take your time. Good job.

 

Work on shading, and try to avoid the straight line tool.

 

Looks good for a first shop at the old Microsoft Paintshop.
