I love football, and in every sense. Firstly, it brings me pleasure and a sea of adrenaline. Especially when I bet with my friends, although I know that I am prepared. And almost always I win, and my friends only shrug their hands ... they say that I was just lucky.

Association football. I love team sports, and soccer is the most team-based sport I can think of. It has a relatively low physical barrier to success. This makes pick-up and community games more fun. For example, women can compete against men relatively well compared to other athletic sports (in part because of how central mental skill is to the game), as a major physical factor is cardio rather than strength or height. Plus this makes it great exercize. It's also high in creativity for several reasons ... a large percentage of the body can be used to control the ball ... the field is large ... the ball can accurately travel long distance ... there are high number of players. What these factors allow for is a high number of effective plays per position which thereby increases variability in strategy compared to say, a pick and roll in basketball. Not that basketball is a stiff game ... it's similar to soccer and my second favorite sport. Also, that feet rather than hands are used to control the ball serves to increase the skill cap. The beautiful game doesn't get as much love as it should in the states because there are so many alternatives, the relevant infrastructure is poor, Americans don't want to adopt the a worldwide game (think metric). Americans tend to be lazy, brutish, and independent. These traits are especially detrimental in a high cardio and team-based game of finesse. With limited attention span, some rag on soccer for it's low score. I think that just adds to the beauty ... the randomness, the sudden comebacks, the game isn't often over until the final whistle. I love soccer because it's a simple, fun, and social game.

As I have grown up both games have changed to be more tactical.
