Most nations have police-state like characteristics, the US is no exception. But I wouldn't call the US a police state.

One difference is that propaganda plays the major role in controlling the political and social aspects of society in a democracy, whereas they might just arrest anyone for speaking up in a police state.

Your YouTube video just shows some exceptionally idiotic and unprofessional police officers, their behaviour is not representative of the average cop on the street, I'm sure of that.

Like half of them are incarcerated for use/distribution/intent to sell of cannabis. (half of them are black, 75% of them are christen, 0.1% are atheist) And i think why china has not a lot of people in their prisons is b/c their punishments are very harsh; dealing drugs=execution, sealing a car=execution, so if we has such harsh punishments less people would break the law. also we killed about 55 people this year, china is just shy of 11,000. we also have a very very poor education system, i suffer from it. what we should do is clean up the streets and make an example of them, scare the public a bit but reward them too. also as far a money goes [the war against drugs cost the same as the war against terrorism,]

Its down to the high levels of drug related crime in the crime and also the fact guns are legal there in my opinion.

Last I checked a police state imprisons people who have not commited crimes, unlike what happens in america 95% of the time

China has 1,600,000 prisoners, but that's not counting all the people arrested for no reason

The USSR had tons more than this in gulags and such...

Putting people in prison for a minor, but still illegal reason, is much better than for no reason at all I should think...
