How many people are actually playing DMM?

As we all know the servers are pretty much dead 24/7 now, but I wonder how many total active users are there. Less than 500? Or do people still think in the thousands? Keen to hear your thoughts.

 

I would say there are 1,000 or less active players on the Deadman world. If it wasn't attatched to OSRS servers, it would be shut down like RSC. World 345 Deadman was a good experiment, the Deadman seasonal worlds have shown the full potential.

If they shut down the current DMMW345, but kept the SDMM, then released a new permanent W345 on a brand new server the same as SDMM mechanics, it would be more popular but they'd have to call it something else.

There's potential for DMM to be popular.
They need to make it the same rules/mechanics.

 

I think they will eventually shut it down like they did to Darkscape for RS3. Except Darkscape still had a huge active player base before it was shut down.

 

3 things.

1) They need to shut it down
2) They need to completely revamp alot of mechanics and make it more enjoyable
3) Re-open new DMM world with everyone starting fresh again

I have an almost maxed combat account and its almost not playable solo. Everytime I pvm I get rushed by a maxed clan. I love the game mode but i can see why new players are having a hard time getting into it.

 

used to be so pop but now its barely anyone playing..

 

Since this thread was made the player count has gone up.

I have seen 135 people on the DMM world, before mobile etc it wouldn't even ever pass 100.

 

Rented one of my qualified accounts sold the other

the payment for the rented account was scammed by MM

missed out on swapping profit and the rent

 

I havn't before but i'm going to commit to this season

 

RS players are such leach's. its try hard nerds doing anything & everything they can to get a kill/profit, it leaves no room for new players to learn the ropes, hence it dies. a huge part of the issue with pking in general is that the skill gap is so massive that new players won't even consider trying it out, in most cases you can make way more GP doing PvM.

 

but whats worse are RL plugins. Tryhard cheaters are so god damn obnoxious ive almost given up doing 1v1s

They are talking about a DMM reset which I think would be.. AMAZING! I was super active till it died, but I think if they fixed some things to make the pking more accessible a lot more people would play.
