[Food] Taco Bell - Double Stacked Tacos (All 3 flavors) Review Part 2 (2019 edition)

Alright, so they decided to re-release the really popular Double Stacked tacos I reviewed 2 years ago at Taco Bell. Remembering how good they -can- be (when they were done right, they were all 5/5 tbh), I decided to adventure and try out the new ones blindly.

Price Paid: $1 per taco (Once again, I got really full eating the 3 tacos. Use caution)

310 Calories each + Baja Blast means I just had like 1.2K Calories.

Nacho Crunch:



Now, you might not be wondering.. "why aren't you showing what's between them torts?" Well. All 3 tacos HAVE THE SAME FILLING BETWEEN THE TORTILLAS. A frankly huge difference between the iterations. They all have nacho cheese between the tortillas.

So, this ends up being just a taco with crunchy strips added to it. It didn't have that insane amount of cheese as they did two years ago, or at least it didn't taste like it. It just tasted like a normal Taco Bell taco.

Chipotle Cheddar:



I normally don't like chipotle products or anything with smoke flavoring added. Usually it gets overdone and all you can taste is artificial smoke. Yum? Better than kissing a smoker I guess.

That being said, for some reason I was able to notice a bit of spice on this one. Maybe because I didn't know which one I was eating, but I noticed some spice. This one was actually pretty good, but again there's barely any difference between the tacos.

Reaper Ranch:



This was the first taco I tried and I honestly thought it was the chipotle taco until I bit into all three a second time. I think this one is spicier than the Chipotle Cheddar flavor, but I'm not sure. If anything, this one should probably be called the chipotle sauce because it is SMOKEY.

If you love smoke flavoring, get this one. I don't. I know people who do though...

Overall, not nearly as impressed as I was with 2017's iteration because they removed the "opposing flavors / textures" gimmick and just went with "let's just change the sauce and make all the tacos basically the same." Better for quality control, worse for a chump like me.

Bonus points to my Taco Bell for giving me hot food for once. Nice manager, nice staff. They made jokes about dead body bags and boomers.

I'd buy the Chipotle and the Cheddar variations again. $1 goes pretty far on these.

yo, I had no idea these were coming out, this thread is why I had taco bell for lunch lmao. I got a few of the nacho crunch tacos, they were my favorites from when they came out last time. can't beat em for $1, I'm a big fan

They were my favorite last time too, but mainly because they were the most consistently good!

Yeah, well I've got a lot of junk to try out especially since I know Taco Bell, Frito-Lay, and Coca-Cola are gonna go ham in 2020 >.<. So many new items.

 

The 1$ Chicken Enchilada is pretty good too.

Haha to be fair... I wasn't really doing them. I've been kinda just chilling and trying most stuff without a review (mainly off the shelf junk which.. people are less interested in). But trust me, never stoppin'.

Local places are my favorite but like iunno about posting those... but heck yeah tacos RULE go check it out on your birthday.. I expect a review in 2 weeks

 

These look raunchy af. Soft potato taco all day.

 

Those are pretty good... haven't had one in a while. Makes me want fiesta potatoes though. Anyways, they don't look so raunchy when you aren't taking pics of the insides.

 

had the chipotle cheddar, was basically a soft potato taco with meat instead of potatos and an extra hard shell
