@Sun Is there a reason you've been MIA for months now? I rarely see you post, let alone anything else. I do see you in Discord at times though, so unsure what's up.

 

@Sun what's the point of liking my post, but not even responding? Out of mutual respect, or even solely due to it being a legitimate question, I'd have liked a response.

 

Not sure, but she has not responded to my discord messages either. Kinda getting pissed at this point

I apologize to those of you upset with my activity since I moved to Japan. I was working 400 hours a month for a large portion of my time here, and that has only changed in the last 2 months, but at the same time, my ship began going underway pretty frequently which restricted my overall internet access. I promise if there ever comes a time where I cannot benefit the team, I will leave, I do not intend to rank sit for the sake of rank sitting. Thank you.

 

Okay, valid reasoning. However, what have you done in the past 4 (correct me if I'm wrong please) months while being away, other than rank sitting?

 

I never said I didn't rank sit, I said I wouldn't do it for the sake of rank sitting which has been a perpetual problem in staff for years - there was every intent of returning as soon as I was actually able to, which is now, and I have. Having resigned for the months I was completely mia on Sythe wouldn't have produced any different outcomes; not doing so allowed me to help during the spare time I did have, without it being "leaking" of staff lounge. It's a whole bunch of excuses but this was my own reasoning and that's all I have for you.

 

Except you literally did it for the sake of rank sitting? The fact that you acknowledge it's been a perpetual problem in the past, and then you go and do it, to me just emulates A) total disregard and disrespect for the staff team and the community as a whole; B) utter contempt for the community, and realistically, appears that you believe you're above it all and take us for fools; and C) an insanely ignorant attitude - you know this issue is present, yet you act as a proponent for it - do you not see the evident hypocrisy?

Let's be real, we all know what behind the scenes work implies.

In actuality, it would. Likely someone else would have been promoted. Not to mention, it's not solely about it resulting in a tangible outcome, it's about respecting the position, and the perceived notion and resulting effect it has on both the staff team and the community.

None of the Globals or Sectionals will confront you about it (understandably so, as they all want to progress up the ladder - and angering an Admin is likely something to impede them), but your total disregard for your position results in lower-ranked staff members harbouring discontent, alongside well-justified frustration progressively festering. They work hard, while you go MIA and barely give two-shits about it, and retain your position. We've all seen it throughout the years on this website, discord amongst the staff team is never healthy.

I appreciate your candor, and have no issues with you personally - just my own subjective feedback.

I appreciate you returning. Those @everyone mentions in Sythe Discord after being MIA for so long were kinda off however. Hope to see you picking up some activity again, and hopefully you’re doing well. Happy new year.

 

And I stick to the above. Haven't seen your activity pick up still which I hope is still a work in progress. I'm not going to tell you what to do in a position of such inactivity, I can only hope your decision is being made in favor of the community and staff team.
